Your Career/Expertise:Student/Eventual History Teacher Age:19, but turning 20 in a month Married Or Not?: Not Yet Gender: Male 1.) What Part of your Lifestyle - family, friends, leisure activities, spiritual well-being, or career - is most important to you? Why?

Family and Friends have always been incredibly important to me, and I tend to care more about them then myself. Leisure activities are also important, and usually consist of reading or gaming, or watching old movies. MY career is of course VERY important, and I am working hard as a student so that I can teach history. Lastly, I don't really do much about my spiritual well-being. I kinda have my own religious doctrine, but it doesn't play that much of an effect on my day to day life.

2.) Which of the Five Parts - family, friends, leisure activities, spiritual well-being, career - do you wish you could get greater satisfaction from than you do now?

Right now, my career. I know that in the end I'm looking forward to year of doing what I love, but short time, I'm in hell here in college, with lousy professor TAs, and a German teacher who thinks we can understand 200 year old German when he doesn't even teach in class.

3.) How does your career affect the other parts of your lifestyle?

My life kinda revolves around history. I read history, play history, watch history, I base my political beliefs off history. My family loves history, my friends love history. Yeah, call me a nerd, I don't care, but I love history in all its myriad of aspects.

4.) What caused you to choose your present career?

Obviously I'm a student, but to choose teaching...well.... For one, it would be doing what I love, even though what I love will cause me to be so poor I'll be living out of a cardboard box. I have this way of teaching people too. Whenever I'm in a group, I tend to take the lead, but when I do, I teach the group about what we're doing, and I do it in a way that's actually enjoyable. I'm very cynical about how I look at history...and it shows.

5.) How often have you changed careers?

I can't remember a time I didn't want to teach.

6.) Aside from the money you earn, what gives you a sense of satisfaction with your career?

Well, teaching will never offer that much money to me.

As for sense of satisfaction, I know that good teachers can affect people's lives...and I want to do that. I want to be able to change how students look at and learn history.

7.) What, if anything, could you have done in the past to make your work more satisfying today?

Not really that much.

8.) What Advice do you have for me as i choose and prepare for a career?

Find something that you love, and do it. I know its cliche, but doing what you love is always worth the work. Sure, you may never become some rich and famous person, but in the end, you WILL actually enjoy what you do. And...it'll take work. It's not something you just jump into one day and start. Anything you do in life is going to take work by you. But if the end result is that career you've wanted all your life, then it will seem worth it to have put yourself through hell.

Archimonde0_0;4191182 I would like some of the FH Developers, or people in the community who are involved in game design, programming, modeling, texturing etc.

So you are asking, ONLY people who are involved in game design, programming, modelling and texturing?

He's asking for anyone who is involved in the game creating process. Or anyone like vM who likes to talk about himself. ;)

I'll play. Your Career/Expertise: IT Infrastructure. Networking/Telecommunications. Age: 34 Married Or Not?: Not but I am for all intents and purposes. Gender: cmon now. 1.) What Part of your Lifestyle - family, friends, leisure activities, spiritual well-being, or career - is most important to you? Why? family, friends. They will never lay you off, take away benefits, etc. 2.) Which of the Five Parts - family, friends, leisure activities, spirtual well-being, career - do you wish you could get greater satisfaction from than you do now? leisure activities. Hard to come by. 3.) How does your career affect the other parts of your lifestyle? You know how people say that you have to love what you do? I find that to be utter crap for me. If I have to do something for 40 or more hours per week I will eventually hate it, I know it. Career, work is nothing more then doing someone elses suffering  4.) What caused you to choose your present career? Keeping a great flow to my resume. 5.) How often have you changed careers? heh heh... 6.) Aside from the money you earn, what gives you a sense of satisfaction with your career? I do meet with alot of great people, create solutions, ease their 'suffering'. 7.) What, if anything, could you have done in the past to make your work more satisfying today? Started earlier. 8.) What Advice do you have for me as i choose and prepare for a career? Do something that makes you the most money for the least amount of time. You arent here for very long, no sense wasting time fighting to get ahead of the other corporate douchebags, only to die of Alzheimer's. Enjoy the NOW!!! I do not want to work but I also would not want to do a bad job at it. While Im there I give it my all, well, I give some to this board too. For me, I just want to bang on the drum all day if you know what I mean, pursue my interests. Work is just an obstacle for me, but it takes up too much time. I do the things I need to do to get ahead, but my heart will never be in my job!!! I like to play.
