I can only imagine the lag something of this size would produce.

Bring it on. 25 bazookas and 50 satchels would take care of it!! :naughty: They are very nice pics BTW.

Are you referring to the Ratte or insinuatiing something about Dönitz and Stylie? :D

The Ratte was a ridiculous monstrosity. It served no legitimate military purpose, and only got designed because of the mixture of delusion and desperation dominating the arms development strategy of the Third Reich towards the end of the war. Even then they were not quite crazy enough to actually build the thing. If it had ever been built, it would have almost certainly have required specially constructed trains to move anywhere useful without breaking down. Once there it would probably have broken down anyway--engine and track production/technology were not really quite up to dealing with things as heavy as even a JagdTiger very well, and this thing makes a JagdTiger look like Mini-Me next to Fat Bastard. If it was ever taken out of hiding to actually use its pointlessly oversized guns, it would probably have been destroyed by Allied aircraft within hours--days if it was lucky and the weather was bad.

It had a lot of FLAK guns and could withstand a 500kg bom.

The allies had a plenty of planes and lots of great big bombs. It was intended to have up to 8 flak guns, which is 8 too many. IMO, it was just another case of way too many eggs in one oversized, expensive, vulnerable basket. The only reliable defenses a wwii land vehicle had against concentrated airpower were concealment and friendly air power. The Ratte was too huge and immobile to hide easily, and the Luftwaffe's ability to protect German ground forces had been almost completely eliminated, by the time the Ratte could have been built. It would have been squashed.

This could be an objective map and the 'Ratte' could be a stationary object.
