I know we're all focusing on damaging the vehicles, but a primary reason museums don't allow this is due to liability issues.

I know for the the majority of us, if we were to get hurt crawling around the inside of a tank, we'd be like "oh well, it happens." But there are many out there that would sue the museum for negligence.

This is mostly only in the USA where you can get millions for putting your cat in the microwave. Most of the time there are signs with: At your own risk. I'm also going to the panzermuseum (hopefully in the autumn vacation) though I will ask first if I can take a look inside for an schoolproject or something like that, just bring them an nice story and how wonderful they are :naughty:

I agree, such a thing might work in the US, but certainly not in the rest of the world. ( they are most likely to laugh you out in your face )

I bet they will still say no; unless you bring a briefcase with a few extra millions you are wishing to donate, or can proof that you are part of a widely known company that has specific interest in these things, chances are you'll just have to do with touching the tanks from the outside.

The panzermuseum in Munster? If you do go there be sure to ask Taranov about what Lightning, Toddel and I missed and what he would like walkarounds of. Tip: Take a picture from the textsign, make one overview picture and then do your walkaround. Take extra photos of important parts. I took one general overview picture of dashboard and then several closeups so every gauge is on 3+ photo's so it *has* to be on atleast one crystal sharp. Turn flash of if it's not too dark to prevent flashing on the gauges.

One thing we missed for sure is the dashboard of the Sd.Kfz 251/9 Ausf. D. From the back it looked like the thing had none buit it has one afterall.

No, it was perfect weather. The only places were it "always" rains are the Netherlands and the UK. Bloody sea climate.

Another reason the museums do not like people climbing on or in the vehicles is theft. People cause a lot of damage to have "their piece of history"
