I heard Vichy troops fought in North Africa like the American Kasserine Pass. I'm utterly confused by this Vichy France, please help me guys.:uhm:

It started out as one france, then germany invaded, and set up a new government, which was vichy france. It ruled southern france, but was just a nazi puppet state actually. Germany got control of the whole north and west france. Correct me if im wrong guys :).

All it was was a puppet state controlled by the French, but run by the Germans. They allied themselves with the Axis, started recruiting, and got to keep all of their colonies in Asia and Africa. Fearing that they would use places like Madagascar for a submarine base the British and Free French never really recognized them as a legit state. The only major ally to do so was America, but Vichy France was created before Pearl Harbor. Here are some excellent links for more info: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vichy_France Operation Catapult: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Destruction_of_the_French_Fleet_at_Mers-el-Kebir Operation Exporter And the Lebanon Campiagn: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syria-Lebanon_campaign http://www.tdg.nu/OOBs/1939-1945/oob_operation_exporter_1941.htm Operation Torch: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Torch Franco-Saimese War http://www.militaryhistoryonline.com/20thcentury/francosiamese/default.aspx Vichy soldier: Fra-Vishy_s.jpg Vichy Air Force Operations: http://www.pacificwrecks.com/douglas/articles/french.html Tanks consisted of some light tanks of what was left. All the good equipment Germany took and gave to her more "liked" Allies.

That looks like the R-35 in your sig. I searched it up on google, it looks like a very light but fast tank.
