There have been some post about what vid cards to buy and will run BF2,as I said I have a 6800 Ultra oc and now that my wifes new PC is done I have in it a 6600gt,as promised I have played BF2 with the 6600 and it will run it an med settings with a good FPS to it,but man alive get a 6800 Ultra or the ATI ver of it and play on max settings,it looks 20x better and you will get your moneys worth out of the graph's.I get over 50 fps all the time with the 6800 and never onced lagged at all, anything below I don't know what would happen, same with the 6600 on med over 45 fps, never lagged. On a side note it is best to run a min of 2gig of ram,I removed all of my ran down to 1 gig and god it's slow loading,I added the ram back in at 1 gig at a time up to 4 after 2 it is not much diffrent. and why do you tell this to us? No offense, but the 6800 ultra has been the "ultimate highend" together with the x850 XT PE until a few weeks ago the 7800 GTX was released, so what do you expect? That BF2 wont run smoothly on it? I really doubt anyone can think that, but what the hell is this post about then?

Why not? Someone might very well be happy to know that, for example, a X800XT runs everything on max without a single "lag". So someone might very well consider buying a X800XT or X850XT to play BF on max. From what i've heard, the Radeon cards run BF2 better than the NVidias.

That is the oppisite of everything i have herd. I ahve a friend who has a 9800 and it took him forever to get the right drivers and everything set up right and the textures still look like crap. I thought that the game was much more firendly to the nvidia cards. I am sure the game looks great on the x800 or x850 but when i upgrade this fall i am planning to get either the 6800gt or ultra based on any price drop cuased by the 7800gtx.

Sure, the Radeon 9000 probably doesnt play BF2 good, and neither does the Nvidia Fx5200. I was subtly comparing the X800s and X850s to the 6800s.

I guess I will be the first to mention that how Windows is optimized, swap file size, drivers, CPU speed, speed of memory, even which brand of video card with the same chipsets all make a difference.

they dont play it good, they dont run i anyway! these vid cards are missing the required Shader 1.4, so you wont get it running except your a real hardcore modder.
