I've heard about this for a few years, but yesterday, through some stroke of luck I stumbled across it.

What it is, is a group effort to build and fly a few ME-262 replicas. With the exception of the engines (they used a newer, more reliable version) the aircraft is exactly the same as the original, down to the rivet!

Check it out!

Interesting project. Sadly only five will be built.

I'd like to see one of those! The Me262 was a superb plane.

That is cool as all hell, can't wait to see how it turns out. Hopefully one of those 5 will make it to the Cleveland air show next year. Its one of the biggest shows in the country and is about 50% WW2 aircraft.

Yeh its a cool plane. The HO229 was cooler though. I don't like how the ME262 flies in IL2.

One of my good friends (Hes in his 60's) went to flight school back in the day with the test pilot, Wolfgang Czaia. He gets some "top secret" intel from the project. But everything I knew that was "top-secret" for it at the time has now been released, so don't ask me for anything. It's a really neat project. Glad to see they repaired it after its nose-gear collapsed on a test-flight landing. IMO though...the 2 seater is ugly.

Yeah after I made the post it dawned on me about the trainers but I was too lazy to edit it lol...

P.S. it looks stupid as a two seater. ;)
