As many of you know the last war in the middle east between Isreal & Lebanon went bad for Isreal. However what I find interesting in that the sides in the war where supported by America & Iran, Do you think the American Army would suffer the same faith as the Isreali.

Against Hezbollah or Iran? Also, as far as I know, the Lebanese army did not fire a shot.

Since the IDF got their asses totally handed to them by the Hezbollah guerrillas in a familiar enviroment where they have been fighting for decades, I don't think the US army would do much better. Iran employs advanced Russian technology which was also given or traded tot the Hezbollah, but I don't know if their conventional way of fighting would actually be their weakness in this case.

The Lebanese people should be mad at their own government for letting Hezbollah live in their country and for not protecting them. Yes, its a horrible war, but Lebanese people were killed as well as military targets. Yet, the Lebanese government didn't send in their military to defend its borders or people. They might not have had a chance against the Isreali military, but its a lot better than sitting there watching your citizens die.

Why should they be mad at Hezbollah? They got in the goverment by democratic voting. After Israel bombed the shit out of Lebanon, Hezbollah gave the people who had lost their homes thousands of dollars to use for rebuilding.

But then why does Hezbollah torment Isreal and lets not forget who started this whole conflict when Hezbollah went into the border and killed a number of troops and captured 2.

Indeed they did and IDF responded by killing almost 1,000 Lebanese, mostly civilians. Shame too. Loved how they bombed the shit out of their infrastructure, roads bridges and the like, then told them to leave... to where? and how? All bridges were destroyed. Trust me dude, Lebanon fought a 20 year civil war. The country of lebanon has 4 million people. They dont have the economy to put an army together that could defeat hezbollah. Not when they are funded by outside forces... US wont touch them for fear of Israel getting mad, and why? Lebanon (say what you will) is a country that should be supported. There is no Arab country as westernized as LB. Democracy is working there for the most part. Sorry to say the modern war machine is incapable of defeating guerilla warfare. The only way to do it is to starve it of money. Ask the Contras and Sandanistas.

And if Hezbollah hadn't been intertwining their military targets in with civillians establishments,(like putting rockets next to aparments) they wouldn't have to rebuild there homes to begin with.

Yes they would. I remember some high-ranking officer saying something along the lines "For each dead Israeli soldier we will destroy ten houses". They did not only bomb houses rockets were launched from.

To be perfectly honest, without excusing the intentional bombing of civilians, if you think about it very objectively, it makes sense. If I were the Israelis, I wouldn't be trying to make friends in the region (as that's not going to happen anyway) so I might as well bomb the shit out of whatever gets in the way as ruthlessly as possible.

What you should, however, consider in all fairness is that a large number of the photographs from the Lebanese/Hizbollah side of that war are fakes, including the notorious pics of Israeli bombs hitting a red cross ambulance.

Google for "lebanon fake photograph" and you'll see what I mean, not just from politically biased websites.

SIgh, when the *#%^ will these people get over it & quit being such barbarians. Im not refering to the latest incident either Im talking about the whole sordid fn mess that is the middle east from recorded history.:( Make no mistake. I will never ask a man or a nation to not deffend themselves & I will never trust anything any group that has a history of performing or ascociated with performing terrorist actions dishes out as 'factual news'. In case your keeping score here that means BOTH sides.
