I'll start it this week:

Van Halen vs. Guns N' Roses, who rocked more?

For me, it's definitely Van Halen, the best thing to happen to Rock, since Led Zeppelin. While both bands had their share of drama, Van Halen continued widespread commercial success, well into the 1990s. There are those who never forgave the replacing of David Lee Roth with Sammy Hagar, but I loved their music all the same. Also, I feel that Eddie Van Halen got an unfair placing in the, shame on you, Rolling Stone Magazine! The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time : Rolling Stone

However, it must be acknowledged that in the late 1980s that Slash and Axl Rose had a huge impact on the heavy metal scene.

Gotta go VH on this one. Love slash but Axl is a tool.

Axel maybe such a duechebag that he can't even convince a group of barely functioning junkies to hang out with him, but at the end of the day 'Paradise City' outrocks Panama by miles. And Kiril, Hagar still sucks. :P

VH because they were unique and eddie had his own sound. GnR are good too, but not unique imo. Just good. Where as VH was both good and unique. :D I agree axel's a tool, but i dont hold that against them when judging the music. Im hoping for one more good album outta slash, but who know's.. Hes blocked i think, nothing new left.

GN'R FTW. They're my all time favorite band. Besides, Van Halen sold out to the whole hair metal sceen. I mean the frekin' keyboard eddie... you're better than that. GN'R is hardcore through and through. Now I know that GN'R had its share of bad songs *cough :November Rain: cough* but as Stylie said, "Axle is a tool" and he wrote that one. But I have to say that Slash put out one sick solo in that song... once you get through the 8:00 min of crap. BTW, who else here would flip out if GN'R ever had an all original reunion? (I know it'll never happen)
