Hi guys, sorry to post this here but its already in the help section and ive had no replies in two days and I really want to get into this game. Anychance you could help me out. Here is the original post: I was told about this by an old friend who I used to bash BF1942 with. As I used to love the game the prospect of a huge 1.6 gig mod to take me back to it was too good to miss.

So I downloaded the 0.7 and installed it. This was after I had defragged and checked my drives. Everything goes fine so I instantly jump in the game. To my horror its as laggy as hell and its almost impossible to move let alone shoot anything! Even when I turn my settings to minimum and turn sounds off it still lags horribly. All my other games COD2, BF1942, Vietnam, Half Life 2 etc all run perfect on full settings and online so I can't understand why a '42 mod would react this badly!

Now I know this isn't my rig as i'm running a relative beast here with well over the suggested spec. I am also on a fairly fast 4meg connection. I have played with settings in game, I have not yet played with settings on my router (do I need to open ports or anything) and I will not give up on FH!

Can anyone give me some advice on how to sort this problem out? sad%20(frown).gif I have read the FAQ etc and seen nothing that may help me. Please help me, I can't wait to get in the action as it looks an awesome mod. :nodding: Hopefully you guys can sort this out for me cos its well annoying. I should probably mention that on single player it runs fine on high settings.

Sounds like sound problems to me, experiment with diffrent sound settings in battlefield. I guess you also know that the ping shouldn't be to high :D

What are your system specs? Could be that your running too much sound and need to tone it down, but if your PC is a beast then you have probobly got an X-Fi Soundcard so it might not be that.

This statement, and your assertion that your system is "a relative beast" makes me think that maybe you are not getting "system/graphics" slowdown. If sound or graphics were the problem playing SP would not make any difference. It sounds to me like maybe you are having a network problem. What kind of connection do you have? Also, can you post some ping values that you get on some example servers?

Also, check your settings on Multiplay -> Internet -> Connection speed. Try different settings, T3 may not work well for DSL and vice versa.

BF1942 FAQ

Also, it's possible that your in-game internet settings could be set too high. Try changing it one below what you have it set to and see if this helps. For example, on the "Multiplayer" then "Internet" Tab, if you have the "Connection Speed" set to "LAN - T3 > 1M" try changing it to: "ADSL - 256k".

**Also, check your settings on Multiplay -> Internet -> Connection speed. Try different settings, T3 may not work well for DSL and vice versa** That sounds like an idea. I'll try that. I play SP fine with everything up at maximum. I am using a wireless network that works fine with all my other MP games such as COD2 and HL2. My ping didn't seem to be too bad. I mean when I bring up the scores and check the ping every so often its around 30 to 60 with only occasional spikes over 100. Its very annoying as it appears everything should work but it just doesn't. Damn my lag issues. Thanks for the input so far everyone!!
