Situation: Charlie Sector... Nov. 29 FH server Here we were trying to advance up the beach, we did have the beach flag, but that was about it. About 25 minutes in my score was worsening. 1-23, ouch. Omaha is my favorite map, I love tackling the beach and the process of advancing. I can lose this map as allied , it happens all of the time, but yesterday was different. All MG's were employed... very well I might add, including the apc and mobile on top of the cliffs. there were krauts with k98's in all bunkers and the occasional beach raper. Not to mention mortar fire def and nebel fire. I had never been so well covered by the enemy. Then it dawned on me... Where's our sniper? So I combed the waters edge looking for our hero and there he was, "Killahrobot" or something like that, crouching behind a higgins boat, then I asked around, everyone said he had it the whole time. For 25 minutes now we have been pinned down with very little hope. Seriously, if you tried to advance you have been cut down immediately! Lets check his score shall we? 5 and 1!!! For 25 minutes, he had target after target, given that sniper rifle, I would have had kill after kill!!! Yet he could only manage 5. WTF!!! So, being unselfish, I asked around "anyone out there who could do a better job with this rifle" Alot of "hands" were raised. Then I asked Killah to give it up an grab some other weapon. To that he said NEIN!!! Now, my question is, Would you, or would it have been ok to TK this guy to take his weapon and get it into more capable hands. Seriously, I would have considered this "helping the team" because there was no hope for us, there was too much defence up there. Also, let it be known that I didnt touch the guy. I think someone eventually did tk him, but I couldnt find a sniper after that. End result, we held one bunker flag for 30 seconds!!! And that was it. At least while I was online I had to leave shortly after that. FLYERS vs. ISLANDERS!

No. Teamkilling is not the answer.

I wouldn't have teamkilled him, yet if he happened to be one hell of a noob like he teamkilled to get the Springfield, doesn't hit any enemy with ANY of his shots or is shooting from a stupid spot, I would have tried to attract the MGs' attention on him if I had witnessed all this...

More likely I would have relentlessly assault the left bunker with grenades (as I usually do:)), and I wouldn't even care about him.

What I must confess I did on Charlie Sector recently though, is teamkilling 2 or 3 guys (U.S. side) who were constantly camping the stairway up to the bunkers. They just were too scared to go any further, and were blocking our progression, not to mention the lag my comp gets when there are so many people in the same place. After 5 times blocked and some deadly german grenades thrown at the ones trying to advance, I just gunned down anyone who stopped in the way ahead of me, and we took that bunker.

I have been known to dispose of idiots who are hindering our efforts, but never people who simply lack skill. Even at that, it isn't setting a very good example, so it's only the rare situation where it is a prolonged bout of idiocy...

It would have been hard not to teamkill him, the sniper can make and break that map for the allies.

Yeah, that too. Hate it on Foy when a sniper calls for mortar fire on a base, and then goes running in to capture it on their own, I kill him and he wants to kick me. Hopefully someone more deserving would then pick up the kit...

Similar situation with the commander kit on Pegasus, to be honest. Too many sniper kits, and it turns into DICE Omaha. One sniper kit, and a noob (I assume you meant killabot, I've seen him play but can't remember how good/bad he is) ruins it for the team.

I wish FH2 would implement some sort of mechanism where, you could vote out someone in a crucial role (commander, guy with the sniper rifle, whatever) who's currently hurting his team due to inactivity or incompetence. Otherwise, if it's active, just try some team kick votes. One reason I like playing hslan is that, if an admin is around, they'll sometimes kick people who are egregiously obstructing team play--which is about as mortal a sin as I can think of in FH.

But no, I wouldn't tk. I've once gotten a crappy sniper on Omaha sniper so mad though that he tk'ed _me_ and left the server in a huff, after which someone competent took the kit and we nearly won.

Thats a pretty good idea, Either that or just told axis where he was lol, I thought of something else, since he was close to the waters edge, perhaps I could have plowed into him with a higgens boat... I mean really... he was so well concealed I wouldnt see him:lol:

Next time he is hidden behind a boat, try to prone push him in the open :)
