I want to thank everyone for their contributions to the thread comparing the best WWII fps/rts games. It reminded me of the WWII air combat sims. I haven't played one of those for at least 5 years, and I believe it was the Microsoft European Air War game. So what has happened in air combat sims since then? I'm not interested in modern air war - well, maybe Korea, and that's just because of the coolest jets there have ever been, the F86 Sabre and the MiG-15.
The Il-2 Sturmovik series, hands down.
CFS 2 was nice too
What are the cool and upcoming flight sims, I've heard of an IL2 sequel focusing on BoB?
Yep, Storm of War. Check out the updates here: Oleg Maddox's News - Official 1C Company forum
Its gonna rule :D
IMO - IL2 1946. Reining king until Storm of War comes out
Flying Carpet Of Death;4752079IMO - IL2 1946. Reining king until Storm of War comes out
And considering both are from the genius of Oleg Maddox, I wouldn't say that Il-2 is losing the crown, more like passing on to its heir :P
Jane's WWII Fighters is the only one I've played. Fun but limited in scope to the Ardennes campaign. Graphics are a bit dated too. You can fly the P-51, Spitfire, P-47, P-38, FW190, Bf109 and Me262. Does anyone know of any good Pacific War flight sims? The only one I know of is Microsoft CFS 2.
What was that one game 130th used to play? Aces High II, that was cool.
