Sorry guys, but IMHO, this guy is a complete tool. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2006/soccer/specials/world_cup/2006/07/12/bc.eu.spt.soc.france.zidane.ap/index.html?cnn=yes I mean cmon, we all love our families, but to let an opponents words cost you the game is utterly unforgivable. He wouldnt last 2 minutes in any game of American sports. There is first, whatever-game-we-are-playing's rules, then comes the smack talk of all kinds. Zidane... He doesnt think your sister and mother are wh*res... He knew you would melt and react... consequently costing you the game. You worked to hard to get to the world cup to throw it all away on that. Utterly unforgiveable. Your teamates and your country deserve an apology. Flame away!

Again, ALL players talk smack. Why should we give Zidane an exception?

Materazzi is an A-hole and he deserved to get his azz knocked down

if you have any doubt he deserved it.. look here:

i doubt he apologized for that.. atleast Zidane apologized for the kids watching. and i doubt his teammates and country want an apology..

It's ok for you to feel that way about your family. Some people are different therefore react differently. There is no need for that sort of talk and I would of punched him in the face if he would start to talk about my family. I have been playing sports for 16 years and have never been insulted with things including my family. Anyways, by getting sent out I don't think it cost them the game. People need to step up and not rely on one player to win. End of story. Btw Materazzi is an a$$hole anyways.

I've heard black kids been called the N-word on the ice that have reacted much less violently than that.

Disgusting.

Well I definately would not be mad at them if they kicked whoever said that ass.

No, they probably wanted a World Cup title. Yeah it feels good to stick it to an A$$hole, but I doubt the French team and country would rather see him head butt Materazzi in the chest. (BTW someone tell me, in other parts of the world, is headbutting someone in the chest more of an insult, like if an Arab throws a shoe at you?!?! Seriously, why wouldnt he just punch him in the face?) Im definately not gonna come to Materazzi's defense that was some brutal scheiss and no doubt deserves a visit after the game. Reminds me of a Hockey player by the name of Tie Domi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZY0xH961QM&search=tie%20domi Why I love being a Philadelphia Flyers fan (Sup Suckysniper!!!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QECEsZVrbMA&search=tie%20domi and this b!tch Darcy Tucker http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=exn0e5eJfCU&search=darcy%20tucker

Except when you are tied one one and heading into a shootout... You need everything you got. Again, you swallow that in the big game or you are nothing more than a child.

What happens on the field/ice stays on the ice. Taking shit that happens on-ice and dragging it off the field/ice is retarded.

i personally believe,.. if your big enough to open your mouth to throw insults, your big enough to get a fist in it. if your not prepared to recieve a fist then dont open your mouth.

and when they make a rule that you cant insult players, then i think its ok to penalize them for reacting. but if some smackmouth can open his mouth an insult you without rebuke, then the verbal victim should be within his rights to "stuff one" in his petoot!. especially if its out of the play and between the 2 of them.

Materazzi is a fascist and a neanderthal, and Zizou is God, period.
