MyrddraalWhat are you talking about all I did was give the ACTUAL HISTORICAL USEAGE OF THE GUN if it doesn't fit your argument then I am sorry but it is still a fact. I just don't think it is worth the time modeling a gun that fired a grand total of 40 rounds and was operational for all of two weeks. As for the 280mm K5 guns I agree they should be included.

oh we are in partial agreement then. Eventually the dora could be cool to see, but we are in agreement about the k5 being a good choice. The operational fits with my argument for the dora though, as it shows it was actually used. I think its ok that it didn't fire a lot of rounds as many ships didn't do much either, some only got a salvo off before sinking.

Say, that's a pretty cool idea. Have the Dora pointed at the enemy objective, and have the ammo car spawn WAY in back of the map. The Russians would have to attack and either blow up the railgun or the car delivering the ammo before the railgun blasts the objective (What did you have in mind for an objective anyway?). One problem though. How would you fix the railgun so it starts with 0 ammo?

Several K5 were used on the atlantic wall to shoot to England. One thought here: one of these (operational) ingame on a map like Battle of Britain or Bombing the Reich; that would add a new target for the bombers and is easy to identify as an objective to destroy. Meanwhile it can shoot on the closest airfield for example... Concerning Dora... bleh do we really need something like that? I'd rather suggest a Sturmtiger when we need powerfull shells...

Perhaps that could go in Alpenfestung. One problem though. Projectiles can only go so high in Battlefield. That thing fires like a mortar right? Can you imagine how high the shells would travel? Probably WAY above the maximum limit. Set it up to fire like standard artillery. And also make it so it cant fire far enough to hit the airfield, to prevent MONDO artillery baseraping. I'd say about as much splash damage as the SCUD from Desert Combat sounds about right. It'd give the allies SOMETHING to take out those damn Konigstigers with at any rate. It wouldnt make em invincible though. It'd be fairly weak against air attack. One bomb, and BOOM! It's all about balance. I just want to see at least ONE of these ideas implemented. Just ONE, that aint much to ask.

Artillery that heavy wouldn't be too useful ingame. Eight-inchers and small railway guns could be, but not that.

Yo joker, read what I typed a little more carefully. I said make it so it can't fire far enough to hit the airfield. How can you baserape when the enemy main is guaranteed to be safe from that weapon?
