Uh, are you SURE they're the same price? 2nd down from top of the line (correct me if i'm wrong) compared to equivalent of a GF4? (Again, correct me if i'm wrong) I'd feel rather suspiscious about this one, or maybe you're just getting a real deal..... Oh, and could you shed light on the source? LOL.....

i may be alittle late but get the 9800Se...my friend has a 9600Pro while my other friend has a 9800Se and we did a little benching at one of my LAN's and the 9800 pulled ahead. and also i read that the 9800Se from Saphire* has 8 pipelines? not sure though.

They will both perform the same. The 9800SE has half of it's processing pipelines turned off which severly limits it's speed. However if you get the model with L-Shaped 256-Bit memory it is possible to softmod it to enable the additional pipelines. Good drivers to do this are the Omega Catalyst Drivers.

Hope this helps!

or for $200 you can get a 9600XT, like the one I'm currently using, and watch it run every game currently out or will be released within the next 6 months, flawlessly.

Why is the 9800SE only $200 while the 9700 and 9700 Pro run around $250 isnt the 9800 series better then the 9700 series. And by the way howcome ATI discontinued the 9700, 9500, and 9100 series cards.
