Yes, I actually READ the read before posting thread..... DORA! :P

Anyway. I've been thinking of a couple things that would make FH2 a bit more interesting.

First off, tank commander kit... where is it?I know they have those 3 pick-up kits on Crete, but still! On big maps like el al, and gazala, I see none! Think we can have these put into the class selection like in FH1, you know, with the pistol/smg, binocs, knife, and a wrench?

Also, with the Tank Commander kit, or maybe the engineer, think we can have a pry bar that will let us "pry" our way into locked emeny tanks? I mean, I've run into SO MANY (too many!!!) bailed tanks, and I sit there and watch it burn away with a from :( But this process will take a bit, maybe about the length of removing a landmine, maybe a tad bit longer. Of course, once it's unlocked, it's on the minimap for everyone to see! But if the prying open enemy tanks doesn't work....can we still have a pry bar to smack people upside the head with? o.o;

Anyway, those are just a couple of suggestions, I had more, but forgot what they were... don't hurt me!

1: ...

2: I doubt that it's possible with the engine to make it show up on the map. I think that you should never bail a tank, except to repair it, or if it is in one of your flag areas (I don't mean the flagzone). It's only a loss for the team that had the bailer if it takes longer for them to get a new tank, or whatever.

This might be litte offtopic:

Spoiler: Show
I remember a match in Forgotten Honor, where a german stuka pilot got disconnected, and the aircraft crashed next to the flag we were defending. It was locked, but we had plans to repair it, to keep the germans form getting it back. =)

True about the map thing, that's the one thing I was afraid of, since I know the BF$ engine is no where NEAR as good as the 1942 engine. I know the idea of the pry bar was weird, but I think it'd be a neat little addition to zee mod.

The lack of tanker kits is really due to the engineer being on every map. Why would you take a class with a wrech and a pistol when you could take a class with a wrench and a rifle?

As for your unlocking of tanks suggestions, I'm pretty sure that's not possible.

If I'm not mistaken there is an animation that has the tanker sticking out of the cupola depending on his view right? Why not give him more freedom by allowing him to look around in it when he is in that view (Instead of turret turning with mouse he looks around), By doing that you can now allow him to use his pistol (And only pistol) to defend his tank or use his binoculars to ask for Arty.

If not a good Idea, then Wasn't it FH2 that wouldn't allow you to get into an aircraft without a pilots kit when it was first released?

Why not reintroduce that and do the same thing for tanks thus forcing you to actually use your tank properly.

While I'm throwing out suggestions that piss people off, why not take the heavy Tanks and force it to be a 2 person job. This way instead of giving them a disadvantage that involves turning the level into mazes or loading the map with AT guns, you can force communication and teamwork in them by having one player drive and another player to gun. (May actually also put an end to the "I'm going to pretend I'm Rambo Jump in the tank and win the game so that everyone can see how Leet I am" kids from grabbing the teams resources and fucking everything up for the rest of us.

We cannot have the commander sticking out of the turret or you will always be able to shoot him with HE, even if the animation shows him to be "inside". Some tanks do have a position where your body sticks out the cupola, but that is not the person who controls the tank, just a passenger. Also, if you are the tank driver you can already look around without moving the barrel by holding down control.

Nope that wasn't FH2. Our philosophy has always been that anyone on the team should be able to use all weapons, no matter which kit.

And again, we also believe tanks should be controlable by one person.

But lets not forget that some kits are more suited for certain roles. In this example the pilot kits and planes. A pilot gets the parachute, which of course lets you live longer when you need to bail out of a burning aircraft. But the minus side is, you cannot capture flags while wearing the Pilot kit. :)

While we are on the subject anyways; why can't we see the gunner on the Marder III when he or she is in the gun position? It really annoys me that I can't throw some grenades at Marder gun crews.

For some weird reason, the gunner of Marder 3 is sitting next to the driver, and you CAN shoot him from the back of the vehicle... getting there is just a bit hard, usually.

Really weird yes.. I would expect a gunner on the gunner position of the PaK.
