Yes, and that they did, when under fire from infantry, or in close prox. to enemy infy :P I'm just saying under prob 90% of combat sits, the german tank commanders did not button up, and that contributed greatly to their effectiveness in being able to observe the battlefield, and direct their movements of their tank and other tanks in the squad. :P

And then they lost :P I guess being able to see the enemy overwhelm your tank didn't help when it was out of gas.

They lost because there was no stopping american and Russian Tank assembly lines, where as their factories were subjected to frequent bombings. also the US tanks were transported to where they were supposed to be where as the germans had to drive from the closest train. (If they were lucky).

Even with superior tactics and superior weapons, If you cant build enough of them or repair them easily, you just cant win in a numbers game.

'LIGHTNING [NL;4753120']The lack of tanker kits is really due to the engineer being on every map. Why would you take a class with a wrech and a pistol when you could take a class with a wrench and a rifle?

Could you at least consider putting tanker kits near tank spawns in similar way pilot kits appear near airfields? That way everyone can choose which one they want to use as both of them has something good to offer.

tank kit sudjestion is a good one but i think it would be beter to have it as a pickup kit beside the tank rather then in the spawn screen. The pry open tanks thing though is out ragious. your a Field enginer with little experience operating vechiles. Unless you know perfect german(or english in the german case), how to operate a tank turret, judge winds, Reload, Drive a tank, hell even start it go right ahead.

has any one noticed how lame stabbing people looks i think it needs more power so it actualy looks like your trying to kill some one not just gently poking them and the normal knife has the same range as the rifle mounted bayonet??? im pretty sure the charecters arms arnt that long and the bayonet also seems to have to much range even tho its on a rifle

Close combat is being abused in most cases anyway at the moment. Sometimes I think it would be better to remove the melée weapons altogether. Sure it would be annoying if they were missing, but it is even more annoying if you get killed by a guy that charges you while being hit by an SMG salvo but refuses to go down. Really a shame. I love bayonets (Especially in that old training video with Major's funny Tommy-voice :) ). But what to do about it?

Worst Problem here is that every kit on a map increases the lag and ruins the performance with the BF2 Engine and Netcode.

Sure I'm afraid BF2 engine ain't so friendly with close combat. yesterday night I started to hit a guy in the chest with a MP40 at point blank range. Not only he didn't die, but he instantly lied on my feet ; my feet were in the middle of his back, but he killed me with his 1 meter-long rifle... :p Without even talking of the strange BF2 hitboxes, when you throw a burst of 9mm bullets in the back of a proned rifleman, who doesn't feel nothing, and instantly makes a 180° turn, still proned, his rifle passing through solid material... That's why sometimes knife and nades are more reliable than a SMG :)
