But scout planes didnt relay real time information to the troops on the ground, which would essentially be what your UAV/scout plane hybrid would do. :D

So make it a union of the UAV and the SCAN, it moves across the map, has the same visual range as the UAV but only displays to the Commander and prehaps to Squad Leaders what it sees.

Yaya that's great and all... But this is the 40s. Maybe you all have been playing a little too much of the demo, but last time I checked, scout planes could not locate every single enemy soldier on the ground in a real-time, radar-ish fashion. I think that most of you guys are thinking too much in terms of BF2. You're thinking how the FH team can make FH2 fit what the vanilla release of BF2 offers. But the thinking should really be how the FH team can make what Battlefield 2 offers fit FH2. My 2 cents. Thanks to the infinite amount of people that know more than me for answering my questions.:)

How in Gods name can you even begine to justify a UAV in a WW2 game? I have no worriers about the arty being used the same way you need a spotter then need someone to aim arty. CrimeScene

Archangel85Because there were spotter planes in WWII?

Not only spotter planes, there were also observers, placed on overlooking points like hills and church towers.

I'm not sure but did they have radars? If not then surely they weren't even as precise as nowadays radars! Also I don't believe they could detect exactly where each every infantry is hiding, be it inside a house or just in some bushes... Also I don't think they could transmit a constant relay of the real-time movement of the troops. If they are to exist there must be a way for not showing enemy troops hiding and to sweep the area only 2 times. An idea though would be to have stationary radars (on battles that really had them like battle of britain) and those radars could be activated by the commander. They would transmit everything detected to the whole team they belong to but I'm not sure if it's a very good idea since they only detected airborne units(?). I also hear there were some kind of mobile radar stations as well. I don't know very much of radars in WWII anyway and how much and where were they used so I can't think of what to really suggest heh..

Ok you have a spotter plane, kinda like they do now, I can go with that but seeing the units moving around and were the enemy troops are at would be way to much,if your going to have a spotter he would have to be right on target,BF2 you can move ur crosshair around but thats based on live vid feed, something that WWII does not,I could be wrong but I do not belive they had any type or radar to detect troops or tanks. Whay not leave the arty the way it is in FH now,you start adding some sort of vid feed and real time update without the spotter calling it ur kinda pushing the arcade/realism line pretty far to the left. It almost sounds like those that have seen the players get them real high kill to death rato with the BF2 arty want the same scores in FH. CrimeScene
