Just keep the UAV an abstract --- call it a spotter plane, a foreward observer in a jeep, whatever you want. The commander gets it periodically and can maybe select an area (thus you could have individuals calling out enemy activity in an area, the commander orders a recon, then assigns artillery). The recon doesn't have to reveal every little detail - could using symbols on the map just to show general enemy activity.

Why can't we just stick with NOT having a UAV? Just because BF2 has a UAV does NOT mean that FH2 has to have a UAV. You DON'T have to make FH2 work with BF2. You have to make BF2 work with FH2.
Why should we have to stick with no UAV-like vehicle? the code could be transfered to something else (preferly something destroyable...)
