Was just playing Bf2-realism mini-mod and it has some very cool little touches that should really be in FH2 imo. 1. Multiple levels of zoom on Sniper Rifles. (See pictures) http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/calmo/zoom1.jpg Picture 1. Press the right mouse button once and you get the sniper zoom which is the same as Vanilla Bf2. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v726/calmo/zoom2.jpg Picture 2. Press the RMB twice and you get more zoom. Not a big change but it's a nice little feature. 2. When you're health gets down to only a few red blocks left you begin to bleed basically and if you don’t get medical help fast you bleed out and die ( the Person who last inflicted damage on you claims the kill). I really like this feature even though I have heard it been suggested before on different mod/game forums and never liked the sound of it on paper (I always thought it was abit too realistic), but in practice it’s a cool addition to the game and makes wounding an enemy more effective. What does everybody think? cya.gif

Think the bleeding to death would be a good idea regarding realism. I'm sniper-retarded so i cant comment on zooming scopes.

The sniper scope suggestion has been made before by myself and USMA in his popular sniper thread a while ago (probably by some others also). I'm all for it because it would let the sniper work at different ranges.

The bleeding thing is excellent also. I'm excited that someone has managed to do this. Hopefully FH2 will have this feature. Personally I'd like to see physical abilities degrade as life goes down so that at 1/2 life you wouldn't have as much stamina as at full.

I was always under the impression that there were no variable zoom magnification lenses, and the highest power zoom was something like 8x with 4x being the most common (I can't remember the exact magnification numbers, but it is something around there). Is any of this true?

Im pretty sure most ww2 scopes just had the one magnification.

I too thought this. The multi-zoom and the infinately-adjustable zoom were fantasy to the WWII sniper. I do know some snipers had a couple scopes of various magnification but "right click cycle" doesn't go anywhere near the minutes of complex tinkering involved in swapping them out.

I'd rather have rightclick ironsights - scope - normal cycle (alternatively looking down the barrel, scope, normal), as many of the sniper rifles had tunnel mounts, or mounts to the side for the scope.

Man, it's hard to find information on ww2 scopes. I did find this on wikipedia though in reference to ww2 sniper rifles:

These were selected because they were the more accurate models of those in service. They might add a scope or bipod. The standard open iron sights were usually left as a back-up in case the optical sight should fog or break.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sniper#Sniper_rifles

So your idea seems like a good choice.

USMA made a sniper thread a few months back where he said that snipers were issued different scopes. I'm not sure where he got his information from though.

3 - Needs Different Scopes A sniper was not just issued one scope with his rifle. He had at least two to use in different situations. One would be a longer range scope, which is what Forgotten Hope uses today. It would be about 10x-14x in magnification. Then he should also get a shorter range scope, around 4x magnification. In order to switch between the two, he could select "different" rifles, like how you choose between auto and semiauto with the M1918A4 BAR and FG42. There should be a somewhat long delay between selecting the new scope and firing it the weapon, to simulate the removal and reattachment of the scope. It might also be nice to give the sniper the optition of removing the scope in general, but this might make him a little bit too good...
