The vanilla sandbags are really a disadvantage if anything, opposite to their real purpose. When you kneel down, you can't fire over them but the enemy can shoot you. When you're standing they aren't really of any protection.
However, they are often used to fortify defensive positions in FH, yet most of the time they do nothing but hinder the defender's abilities.
So, my suggestions would be to lowen the sandbags slightly so that you could shoot over them while kneeling down.
*Nods* Or you could just replace them with FH's sandbags (which look lovely) and the problem is solved that way too.
I personally think the FH sandbags are a little large more like sacks really... If the individual bags were slightly smaller they would be great!
whats the fh sandbags? i only see the vanilla sand bags..
You can find FH sandbags on most new maps.
And then you have the custom maps where the sandbag height is just right. *Pointing to sleepers magnificent work on carrying sandbags to Dunkerque, El agheila, Bastogne etc - bravo!
sandbag height can be adjusted by the mapper. by slightly sinking it, into the ground. doesnt matter what kind of sandbag you use, its at what height the mapper set the sandbag at. to get a sandbag the right height to fire over while kneeling, you must slighly sink it into the ground.
How about giving the deployable MG kits some deployable sandbags like DC? Sure it might make the guy a more conspicuous target, but at least it would create some cover too.
Yes, and PLEASE FIX THE SUICIDE BOFORS BUG. Sorry for the caps, but i suicided myself three time with those just today :D.
It's not really a bug is it... it's just when you hit sandbags next you that the shell explodes killing you too. Seeing as the Bofors is an anti-aircraft gun they would be in positions where they could fire upwards, over the sandbags protecting them. So it's not really a bug - just the height of the sandbags. On my virtually finished Cretan Village map I have some anti-aircraft emplacements but since there are no planes to shoot down (kinda... ;) ) I have made sure the sandbags around them are low enough to fire over so you don't hit them and kill yourself!
