How about making it so it takes some seconds to be able to fire a weapon accurately right after movement?
I think it would help with fixing the running-around-then-dolphin-diving-and-firing-MG-without-deploying tactics.
I've just downloaded latest version of PR and decided to read the whole manual and noticed this in "Weapons & equipment changes". I think FH2 would benefit from something like this. That is if it isn't already of course.
Because that's unrealistic, a soldier doesn't need some seconds to aim his weapon
I don't mean aiming, I mean firing with accuracy. You can still aim, but your shots won't be as accurate as they would if you waited a little while.
In real life you need some time to focus on who you are firing at and catch your breath if you are going to engage anyone right after moving.
PR has such a system, but the problem is that in my opinion it simply well... sucks. You can have your sights right on target but have no idea if your fully stabilized allowing you to even hit the target.
If something like this could be implemented in the form of the sights swaying slightly more at first it might be good.
That's already there, the problem happens with weapons with so insane rof, damage and ammo capacity like hmg's, at very close range huge chances they will kill you, no matter the coded inaccuracy.
Anyways we have coded a small change for these weapons and it seems, in our first tests, the dolphin diving is not so effective
Does the dolphin diver accidentally land on his knife if he tries to shoot within 100 milliseconds after going prone?
I would love to see rifle sway instead of "cone of fire," but the BF2 engine was not made to support anything but the arcaneness of vanilla.
Lobo;4784928a soldier doesn't need some seconds to aim his weapon
To aim for accuracy, yes he does. For spray and pray or suppresing fire, not necessary. I figure thats what you meant, but im just clarifying.
The annoying thing with the mg.34 and dolphin divers is that the animation of the enemy soldier shows the barrel being almost 60-90 degrees to the right of him (from my angle). So you wonder how the hell did I just get shot if his barrel is pointing 60 degrees the other way.

Hehe, you see the same thing with smgs. The guy is flying through the air with his gun pointed off to the side, and magic flashes appear in front of his face to kill the enemy. =p
Oh well, engine's a bitch.
as lobo said we are testing a new approach on the dolphing diving issues on MGs and it seems to work. you still can shoot instantly no change the but the accuracy is vastly reduced making it almost impossible to hit targets 5m away.
