Whilst some popups are designed to fool pop up blockers (depending on how good the popup blocker is) the chances are that you may have an adware problem. Programs like Ad-Aware 6 are designed to remove spyware/adware/malware. I would run it about once every 1-2 weeks to make sure your computer is free of it.

I would certainly try using the administrator priveleges as it may not pick up as many things on a user account due to the privieleges. Another idea might be to use Spybot or another spyware/adware remover to see if it picks up anything that Ad-aware doesnt. When i do it i use both. Also update the detection rules (i know spybot does this, not sure whether ad-aware does but i would suspect so) to make sure that it scans for newer adware.

I'm currently using Spy Sweeper. Does a damn good job of seeking through folders and the registry. Lets me know when an adware is running in memory.
