correct, altho normally you want to use a combo of programs to remove spyware because ad-ware does not get all of them, although it does get "most"

are tracking cookies bad?
Tracking cookies record the sites you visited and normally sends the information for whatever purpose the creator had in mind. Its really a privacy issue more than anything. They are best removed however as they report information without your consent to it.
what they do with tracking cookies is that they see what sort of sites you goto then they put those sorts of ads on their website, lets say you went to ummmm ebay they will start placing those sorts of ads on the website
What I mean is ad-awares sole purpose is to remove unwanted files. It does not prevent the files from entering your system.

'[+Glasius+']What I mean is ad-awares sole purpose is to remove unwanted files. It does not prevent the files from entering your system.
ad-aware has an almost weekly update for it. It works fantastic for finding virus's on my system as when it scans the files that virus's normally hide in, the anti-virus sees them and deletes or quarantines them. Ad-watch, which comes with ad-aware prevents scripts from installing registry keys in your run area to prevent them from loading next time you reboot your system. Both are godlike.
