Small suggestion here. Is it possible to put the type of ammunition in the Game Screen? (you know how you call it HUD screen or so with the health bar etc,...) Since the BF2 engine allows you the shoot through walls and sandbags if I'm not mistaking. This would be helpfull if you don't know much about all those smg's, rifle's, etc,... cause they all look different but many use the same ammo. So for example I'm holding a BAR and I see the ammo is .30 I know this thing can pack a punch or two and penetrate walls. Same goes for vehicles I don't need to go hunt down another tank if my ammo can't penetrate it's pantser. What do you think of this?

I doubt the BAR can penetrate a wall (unless its a really thin wall). It uses the same ammo as the M1 Garand, 7.62mm U.S. Ball M2, really. That aside i wouldnt seeing this, if possible, ofcourse.

what he failed to mention is that the bar was used almost exclusivly with .30-06 M2 (AP), which could indeed penetrate brick ( after a few shots). but could very easily go straight through all the walls (wooden) in a house

Thanks Pavy for helping me out on that. (with wall I mean simple brick/wood walls from a house back in the period of WW2 not some concrete bunker wall)

Cannon shells (for tanks, at guns, artillery peices, etc etc) will feature different types of shells (he, ap, smoke, etc etc) and will be shown on screen (they act the same as inventory items)

but you should learn what weapon fires what ammo. You should learn that a mg34 packs more punch then a p38. We shouldnt have to tell you with the hud.

Interesting Pavy, but i find that rather strange. Why did the BAR primarely use AP ammo? I have to admit thats its rather strange that i cant find anything about the AP ammo of the BAR (penetration table, for example)? According to Tarrif.net the BAR uses normal rifle ammo. Do you have some sort of a source for the BAR using AP ammo?

The US did have AP .30 cal ammo, but to my knowledge there is not a lot of info on how often it was distributed/used by infantry. Surely we can all live with the idea that the small arms in game use standard ball ammo.

well someone posted a link on here to 'theboxotruth' or something and it had pictures of what various weapons did to concrete blocks,

the blocks were decimated by rifles in basically 1 shot, pistols disintergrated them in a few shots so i think that shooting through most walls should be allowed with rifles... but they should lose a lot of dammage power when doing so...
