OK, firstly this is a fictional battle I'm writing a story about in History club at School. In 1943 the war in Africa was drawing to a close. The American's had just faced the Germans for the first time at Kasserine Pass, and the British had defeated the Germans at El Alame nearly a year ago, turning the tide of war against the Axis. But there was still jobs to be done. In Tunisia, there was a town where the Germans kept some of their supplies, so the Allied Generals thought it'd be a good idea to disrupt it. They then planned an operation: Elements of the British 1st Airborne Division would jump in and take out the guns around the Town. Then, the 2nd Ranger Batallion would enter via a convoy of Jeeps, Trucks, Armoured Cars and APC's, and take the supplies hidden in an underground bunker. The RAF would provide Air Support. The initial operation is completed within an hour. But then a Panzer Division held in reserve moves into the town, pinning the Allies down. The attempt to drive the Panzers out leads to night, when the Allies are evacuated to the Ranger's compound. But then Armour arrives to take out thbe Panzers and a small group of Rangers and Paratroopers volunteer to assist. The counteroffensive becomes bloody and difficult, but by next morning the town is won.

Because that's where I got part of the idea from.

To be honest, it would be a nice idea for a FPS like CoD or MoH, but for FH I think this idea is not really suitable.

And pray that you don't get sued for this... ;)

Heres an idea for a new map..set in N.Africa...how about Operation Torch and Syria..basically, all you need to do is skin some desert uniforms for the Vichy French, who will be armed with practically the same stuff as in Counter Attack 1940...e.g MAS 36, Ruby pistols, Somua's, Char B1's, Laffly trucks etc...

For the Torch map..have an allied battleship on the coast, with lots of landing crafts...then have a flag on the beach and behind that a few trenches, the odd arty piece and a bunker or two with french MG's...for now you could use the Japanese gun that resembles the Hotchkiss. The French positions will not be on hills etc, but on about the same level as the US soldiers, give or take a few craters for cover. After the French defences, which will aslo have a flag, make 1 or two large towns, these can represent the towns of Algiers maybe... Once the US has taken the beach, they can spawn a few Shermans and a couple of jeeps and haltracks... For Syria..this will be a hilly, but not mountainous map, with a small coast line to add depth, but no with any ships..the coast is for show and will be on the outskirts of the map. There will be a British base with Tanks, jeeps, Fighters and bombers, then there will be roads leading to 2 French bases in the middle of the map. The French main bnase can be called Damascus or something, they will get pretty much the same as the Brits, planes, a few tanks, but mostly arty. After the 2 middle bases there will be 1 base aftre that, which then leads onto the French main base.. this should be a British assault map, attack and defend, same as e.g Kaserine The Operation torch map, should be like Charlie sector and El Alamein combined...but a lot easier, while still giving chances for either side to crush the other.. any ideas...comments on this?

Was there anywhere the Vichy actually put up more than token resistance? (if even that)

I also have a idea for a map.... Its a map for airplanes like "Battle of Britain" or "Bombing the Reich". On January 1st 1945, the Luftwaffe launches the "Operation Bodenplatte", a surprise attack on American and British airbases in Belgium and France with over 500 German fighter-airplanes. But the attack failed because the Allied where too strong and the German Flaks (AAs), wich didn't know anything of this operation opened fire on the low-flying airplaines thinking these are enemies. They shoot down about 100 of theyr own airplanes.... But first i have a question: On the DesertCombat map "No fly zone" they implemented flags in the air, which only could captured by airplanes or helicopters flying by.... Is it possible to implement such kind of flags in FH too? And is it possible to make some clouds in the sky to fly above them like in this map of DesertCombat? This would be very cool... well, on this map there may be a allied airbase on the one side and a german base on the other and a pretty winter-landscape between. In the middle there may be a river or a bay wich can't be passed by soldiers (to prevent infanterie by stealing airplanes from the other side). And, if its possible to plant some flags in the air like in this DesertCombat map mentioned above, it should be the job for the germans to capture them with theyr Me 109 and FW 190. The flags are all white at first, and the allies don't have plaines until the germans got the first flag (because it was a sneak attack). The germans don't have to destroy anything at the ground, but it is the goal of the map to capture and hold the mayority of the flags in the air by flying throug with his airplaine (the allies have P51s and P47s and maybe P38s, Spitfire or Typhoon should also be possible). So the team which owns the minority of the flags should lose points constantly to make both teams fight for them at every risk. Sounds funny huh?
