Well this is what i FH map is based off I believe, 12omahabeach6vw.jpg Vierville June 14, 1948 FH added the door at the bottom of the bunkers for balance, I rather give have the map focus on the draw

smilie.gif xww2 omaha map is based on this picture, the road to vierville (between 68 and 73 point) and it's really cool. roll%20eyes%20%28sarcastic%29.gif if their mapper would have been in fh team , fh would have a better ambiance map ! Fh have done a "Save soldier ryan" beach of charlie sector for the ambiance, but unfortunately it becomes a map just to train the german to fire at mg42 and k98 on long distance ... link for a painting of the omaha beach (i think it is where Gorckel was)

I have always supported the real-look Omaha Beach idea. Not like it is now, the MOH/SPR version of it. http://www.johnbryer.com/images/john_bryer_omaha_beach_1.JPG http://www.mypcpro.com/ww2/Normandy/31%20Omaha%20Beach%20looking%20at%20Colleville.jpg These are good exambles what I would love to see in FH sometime. And bugger off, am not going to waste my time mapping one myself when it wouldnt be played anyways. :p

Ah yes...I had thought of that. I've been to Utah and Omaha beach before and I thought immediately: What was DiCC thinking of when they made theirs? And while the FH Charlie sector is certainly way more realistic, it gives the feeling that this mission is starting on a dark and stormy night...not. It's not so much cliffs really, at least where I was, it was more very steep, high bluffs overlooking the beach. I would like to have a pillbox or two along the bluffs, and a few holes in teh cliff to shoot from, but mostly sandbags and MG42s concealed among the rocks. Along with snipers.

At least try it, pleeeese? Pretty PLEEESE???

lol your right as far as the pictures Ive seen can tell. I also dont think we would land on a part of the beach with such steep cliffs. more likely the less steep sections.

I would say no because I am a selfish player who wants to be able to play a map without his computer blowing up over the stress. It really wouldn't be too helpful. Smoke provides only concealment, not cover. Before the smoke would appear, the Allies would be clearly visible. After the smoke if you can't see them, just shoot the smoked area, and boom, they will start dropping. Maybe my thinking is all wrong and what you want to do is kill everyone's FPS so they can't kill the enemy. :p

I always thought Charlie Sector was a ranger climb. I know able and baker sector didn't have anyone land there because of rocks/steep cliffs, and I remember hearing Charlie was army rangers climbing the steep cliffs. Anyone care to clear this up?
