Alright, so no one plays assault, common fact. Everyone plays engie, and while in the next version it might become less popular, I still think some people will be tossing their sacks of TNT 50 feet in the air (I dont trust this improvement). So heres the idea... When you spawn assault, you spawn like you spawn now, with the same ammunition and all... BUT When you find an ammo box you get 3 more granades and 1 more rifle granade. This is totally realistic. If you were going into war, you would scavage the maximum amount of ammo you could, so cmon people, lets give this bonus to the assault class. MORE AMMO FOR THE PEOPLE!!
Sounds like an OK idea, but I expect to hear alot of rifle grenade haters to flame.
BTW, which server do u play on? I usually see alot of assault classes.
I don't know about extra ammo. I think it'll turn into a fragfest with all those extra grenades. I too worry that Engineers will just be as good as Assaults, even with the improvements made. People will find a way to use Satchels like grenades if they harm infantry at all. I thought different class speeds would solve the problem, because a fast assault would be preferable to a slow engineer. The Engineer's main weapon is too powerful. Most of the time they just get the Assault's rifle, or in other cases like the M1 Carbine, which I haven't decided if it's better than the Garand or not. If Engineers recieved a less effective weapon, then they wouldn't be an equal alternative to Assault. If not, then Assault needs a few more perks. Even then, I still don't know why Engineers get Assault weapons when AT gets nothing. The Devs already said AT wouldn't be getting a weapon, but I wish I knew the discussion behind it, or any testing that went along with it.
only 2 more grenades i say, 5 just is too unrealistic. Doesnt matter, anyway. I only use rifle grenades if someones in a window and my bullets cant get them, or if the enemy is taking cover anywhere else. I dont go running around with them at the ready to kill infantry, thats what my gun and grenades are for.
I dont think this would do anything really... 2 rifle granades is 100% realistic, and 5 granades, well hell.. Who actually uses them except newbs who toss them on tanks :D
I just want to be able to thorw 5 in a house and know its clean before I jump in it with my Kar98k.
Normal granades are useless, 5 wont do any damage.
I use pistols to clear rooms sometimes. I agree assault needs more ammo espiccially the semi-auto rifles.

so swordfish's thread of him asking for assault class to get 6 grenades and 2 rifle grenades is idiotic, yet this thread which has the same premise (2 standard + 3 from ammo = 5 so its close to his idea of 6 :( ) is worth serious consideration? alright then!
This is more of an engineer improvement question, but why aren't they able to hand out ammunition? It's a feature you see in other games and it fits with the general purpose and idea of the engineer. I know in FH it'd add too much to a kit that has alot already, but I wonder why DICE didn't put it in? In Vanilla I'd run out of ammo all the time.

You can give them another weapon that isn't the standard Assault rifle. Shotguns, for example. No killing at range like the Engineers do now, but get up close and BAM. I know the Marines used Shotguns to clear bunkers in the Pacific theatre, but I'm not sure about their use in Europe. Most AT only get a pistol. Why not give Engineers only a pistol? If Engineers didn't get assault weapons, I wouldn't see the need for AT to have them either, but as it is, AT are the only class that doesn't get an assault weapon of some kind. And with regards to IcelanDick's proposition, I think it might be a good idea for Engineers to carry ammo, but only if they carry no assault weapon. I'm more in support of making the Engineer class a super-support class, that may not rack up the kills, but can turn the tide of battle easily for its support abilities.
