Just wondering, but could a map where you start off as a team eg germans where you are out to sea, and the only vehicles you have are ones which you land on the beach? I reckon it would add a nice atmosphere of realism.

I think the Germans attacked a few Islands controled by the Italians after the surrended to the allies. There was a Assault by landing craft on Crete but it was destroyed by the royal navy I beleive. YOur best bet for a map like that would be the germans crossing rivers coz they can get rather big :P.

Do you have any proof for this? Seems interesting to me.

Well, they attempted to do so but the RN prevented them from doing so.

Ah, but you could make a map of for the example the crossing of the Russian Bug river. The nice thing is you could even model the so called Tachpanzers for this map! Or for example the Tiger tank for this map, they where equipped with snorkels, in case of a river crossing. a_208.jpgb_715.jpg

I would not like to be a russian sitting down when a Tiger comes out of the river! Anyway, the Germans did launch at least one invasion from the sea, which was Operation Weserübung, the invasion of Norway. And anyway, it was just an example. Operation Torch might be good for FH2 though.

Well atleast they did invasions in the Baltic Sea. For example Operation Nordwind (1941) to the Estonian islands and then again Lapland War German vs. Finnish troops Operation Tanne Ost.

Hey, I personally would have nothing against the "Estonian islands" map :), you guys could get you german assault from the sea, and I would get to, well... Nah nevermind, the reality just kicked in...;)
