Well since we be able to use them now, wont be useful when you have it set to be able to block an attack (Bayonet). I am wondering if its even possible to do(code), but being able to block some one's else bayonet and then sticking him would be usefull and realistic since not every stab was succesfull. If its possible your probally have a couple of milli seconds to block or your dead. Wont be much of a problem unless is one on one but would add a realistic affect of close combat. What do you guys think?

1. you make a good point, FH is all about realism i suppose. 2.no, i would shoot you rather than stab you,how many knife fights have you been in on FH?

I noticed that the Arisaka has a bayonet. How do you use it? Do you just approach an enemy? Also, I think it would be cool that they made the katana animations more realistic and made it a deadlier weapon, with a wider slashing arc. Also, parrying would be essential, if say, an Allied soldier picks up a Japanese kit.

In Battlefield 1942: The Road to Rome expansion pack there were Bayonets. I don't get why didn't they implement it to FH, it was a dissapointment for me. They worked pretty well in RtR.

One problem with melee weapons (at least on the BF1942 engine, here comes my limited coding knowledge) is that they did not actually 'slash' or 'stab' you. They fired a small projectile a very short distance, as the engine only supports projectile weapons. If the same is true in BF2, parrying or anything else like it would be impossible.
