JUst woundered if it would be possible to implement this in FH, maybe press 6 to fix bayonet and at the same time put a new team speak on so that you shout FIX BAYONETS!! and then another for CHARGE!!.

Just read a book on Arnhem and the Brit Paras did alot of Bayonet Charges to retake lost positions. espeacialy when they began to run out of ammo.

You are right and it is possible to use rifle attached bayonets.......Road to Rome has that and some mods other then FH aswell.

Devs sadly don't seem to think it's very important, but it belongs to rifle combat, every rifle soldier had a bayonet in those days and was trained to fight with it in man to man combat.

In a way we already have that bayonet, the knife soldiers carry is that.....only we use it unattached to the rifle. The Jappanese even have it on their rifles, but it doesn't work.

In fact like COD en MOHAA there should also be a rifle buttstock melee action, hitting the opponent with the solid rifle stock. That also belongs to rifle combat, many soldiers met their end by the rifle buttstock smashing their skulls in. Gruesome maybe, but that is war.

Yelling all kinds of text maybe not wise because just like a knife you are often only able to stab an opponent succesfully if he does't see you coming.

Katana charging may seem fun, but it is so useless.......hotkey pistol : 3 quick shot dead. Knife type weapons work better being used sneaky and silent....or very close range.

The problem with a bayonet charge is that automatic weapons fire can cut down the entire 32 player team charging pretty darn quick.

Yeah i know makes you realise how tough it must of been for those Paras at Arnhem, if you read the account in full i gave a link for, the Brits would charge with a full Company of men, a German position and take it with only "8"!! men left in some cases.

Shame we cant code in the fear and morale factor into FH, cos in other instances at Arnhem as soon as the Brits shouted there bayonet charge call of "Whao Mohammed"! and charged the German positions the Germans would up sticks and run in the opposite direction out of fear.

I bet you got this from a perfectly objective source? A Hollywood movie perhaps?

It's not impossible.....even the bravest man's courage fails when he is subjected to a sudden unusual threat.

A bayonet charge and the prospect of bloody and mortal man to man combat involving knives and stabbing weapons isn't something to take lightly.....especially not when you are unprepared for it.

Just so long as it works like in XWWII and not BG42. Having bayonets on all the time is quite aggrivating.

It was the actual battlecry

"They charged to the battle cry, of 'Whoa Mohammed', which had been adopted during the 2nd Battalion's service in north Africa, when an Arab used the term to slow his donkey."
