Very good idea, but the charge should also have limitations, also rmember that soldiers were charging with normal weapons and then shoot or do a mele attack.

I think the devs might already have an idea they've settled on for bayonets. McGibs (who apparently is Lobo) said they were going to include bayonets in the interview.

Yes I think so to but they never mentioned any new system behind it from what I remember.

Anzacs, when training the Japanese soldiers for bayonet practice, the instructors would draw a red circle around the heart and they could not stab there because they wanted the prisioner to feel the pain as long as possible. Read the book "Flyboys".

Bayonets are currently going to be standard issue now, right? So what exactly does this mean for knives? Are they going to be part of every kit, or only certain kits, or not in the mod at all? In any case, I suppose a bayonet charge might be interesting, but perhaps it can just be done by allowing the bayonet to be used while dashing? That might be simpler than incorporating an entire move that might just be unnecessary.

I like this idea, kinda like the Japanese katana charge from FH

I just wish Dice had included a melee button in BF2 so that we could not only have an aim down iron sites button but also a melee button. Instead we have to have 2 rifles in the kit, one with bayonet, one without and we can't have the animations for adding the bayonet

that is unless the FH team find some genious way to get around this. Kinda like with attaching the rifle nade.

For the most part, only riflemen will get Bayonets, everyone else will get a knife. Bayonets have great range and the ability to shoot the rifle.

My idea for bayonet changing is basicly just using the sprint function. Sprinting with a bayonet affixed will allow you to run into other players and stick em.

The japanese should be a blast to play in FH2, seeing as pretty much all of thier weapons have bayonets, plus the awsome katana.

Now all we need are some awesome CQB jungle maps with foliage to jump out of and scream BANZAI right before we stab them in the chest.

Perhaps instead whenever you press the right mouse with a Bayonet, your damage and speed dramatically increases until you run out of stamina yourselve, albeit at a good pace.

Strafing should be slowed down to about 50%, or eliminated completely like when you are sprinting in BF2 because everyone will be running around in circles trying to avoid each other during bayonet fights. This is what happens in the Battlegrounds 2 mod for HL2 and it doesn't look a whole lot realistic.
