I have an idea where when a shell or rocket or explosive etc. lands next to you you fall down going into that critically wounded sreen except it doesnt say your critically wounded, and when your lying there helpless for a few seconds someone (not just medics) could come help you up on your feet, and run to cover while being in shell shock mode or whatever.

there are a few problems i can think of like making an animation so it doesnt look rediculus. Or it getting annoying always falling down. also it taking extra time in the development.

i think it would be really hard to do, but its just a thought

might encourage another way for people to help out their teammates. I don't know.

*although I would rather be knocked down from a shell than be standing while I run, have my movement slow down or something (usually the case with a lot of games that try to replicate shell shock) and then get picked off because I'm standing in a daze.

It might be possible to have blasts have you go prone or crouch automatically, I don't know.

It'd also be nice if you were protected better from blasts if you were crouching or prone.

I think a better way to accomodate this would be without the teammates dragging you. The artillery hits near you and you're sent face forward onto the ground, and then have to press the prone button or crouch button to get upright again after a second or so of being dazed.

Oh man this will cause annoying situations when you're being fired upon and fall down - stand up - fall down - stand up - ... ad infinitum.

Not practical imo.

Well, I personally think it's a nice way to simulate being thrown about by the effects of an explosion. It should probably only happen when the blast is extremely close to you but not close enough to kill you. I personally see it as part of the "real damage effects" type of thing, like when a shot actually affects you physically (instead of you being able to run around like nothing happened). It needn't be over done. For instance, what if it was maybe only a one in ten possibility of happening? It can probably be made so that it doesn't happen every time, but rather only rarely.

Honestly, I like this idea. and even though I have no Idea about anything, I would like to see it actually go down this way... it even seems possible for some reason.

well it should depend the radius. I'd actually like to see the player stumble the other way if it's kind of near them. Maybe a chance they'll fall, especially if it's from behind or in front of them.

At least stumbling would put you out of the way of stand-still vulnerability until you regain conciousness. Plus it would look more intense. Maybe something for the future, sounds hard to make that animation though.

Wouldn't all that have to be animated ect? As long as it's done right, it would be interesting for nearer hits from large explosives.

I would think that it could be done all ragdolly style, which would be my ideal.
