Might be more projection then anything. It has nothing to do with race then with reality. (I can be pretty brutal when it comes to that. Enough times it gets me in trouble.)

Give me one good reason why these guys should do this. As a comparison: Why should YOU join the Foreign Legion?

How voluntary are armys really? Expecially in a colony (I personally dislike the name because it can also suggest a "camp in the new world" kinda thing)

I think most people see this stuff way to romaticaly. Not to mention people will allways paint stuff a different color if it makes them look better.

"I am going to the army to defend my country" sounds a hell of a lot better then "I am going because it beats hoping for a job at McDonalds".

@ Sturmtrupp Given the nature of European colonialism, it would be reasonable to assume that minorities were simply cannon fodder in WW2. That's a bit flawed when you look at the overall situation. England is a small country with a small population. They couldn't possibly hope to launch offensives against Germany and Japan, so they enlisted the help of their colonies. In this regard I don't think that Sikhs fighting in North Africa would be viewed as cannon fodder and Australians not. If these minorities were simply cannon fodder, why waste all the time training them to be paratroopers, engineers, medics or artillery gunners? Why not just give them a gun and tell them to march toward the enemy? The German defenses along the Atlantic Wall consisted of a large portion of conscripts from Eastern Europe, Poles, Czechs, Ukrainians, etc... They typically didn't put up much of a fight and surrendered first chance they got. This is an example of minorities being used as cannon fodder. How come Ghurkas didn't just throw down their weapons and surrender to any Germans they came across in Italy? I've seen pictures of Africans and Indian POW's in German prison camps, so they didn't necessarily execute every non-white combatant.

Adventure, travel, a lot of people jump at the chance to join the military, especially back then. I think a more important question is why would Australians, New Zealanders and Canadians sign up to go fight the Germans, who don't pose any real threat to them.

I think most people see this stuff way to romaticaly. Not to mention people will allways paint stuff a different color if it makes them look better.

That plays a part, but I'm just not seeing enough evidence to convince me that anyone with darker skin was dispoable during the war.

Ok. I have been led to believe that FH strives for greater realism in their mod.

We all may not like it ...and its not PC to speak of it today but before and during WWII the US Armed Forces was segragated. Sorry for the reality check ....but history must be presented in an objective and unbiased viewpoint ...especially when the topic of racism is thrown in.

Should we have US soldier of African descent in this game? Sure why not. When the dev team gets a chance ...I'm not saying make it a priority ...but when they get a chance it might be nice to have a historically accurate map and historically accurate troops and equipment for a battle that involved black units.

People, this may be just a game ....but how many of you, after getting hooked on this game, have developed an insatiable thurst to know more about the time period that this game covers? How many of you have taken a genuine interest in our world history?

Don't lie to yourselves or try to lie to me. It was a fascinating yet gruesome time in our past ....and it tends to draw us in ....we want to learn more. Its a good idea to add back soldiers .....but it must be done correctly and with the proper historical research. Otherwise it will have no true merit or purpose. Thats my 2 cents ....take it or leave it.
