I brought this up on another thread and would like to make it a topic. I got 42 kills the other day with an MG because people just kept running into my firing lane. Why? Because there was no blood or bodies to tell them it's a trap!
In the original Beta release of DOD and in CS there was some great damage when a person was hit. If you were hit by bullets, blood would stream out at the point you were hit, and your exit wound. And if you were standing next to something like a wall, the blood would spray all over the object. If you were hit by a grenade or some type of explosive you would be blown into pieces; while still being able to look through the eyes in your head as it flew threw the air.
This made for some very realistic battles for the simple fact blood trails made ambushes evident. People would hesitate to enter buildings (i.e. No Rambo’s) for fear of being the next "spat on the wall" so to speak. Instead of being another lamb for the slaughter, which is how the game is now. They would have to work together to storm a position. Grenades in the windows, rush the position. The Ambushers would have to fire and displace like you would in real life to avoid being cornered.
This was great stuff and can we have it? And if it’s not possible in BF1942 will it be possible with BF2?

The bloos must NOT be overdone, like the first CS & DoD did it...like...you are hit in the chest and a 5m long spray of blood comes out of you...this isnt Hollywood.

I've always been for that added visual effect when someone is hit. Go for it.

Bf1942 used to have blood spurts coming out but it was removed in a later patch, hopefully FH can reimplement this.

You're right a guy hit by MG fire would look like a sprinker system. It can't be over done.

There's actually not that much blood on the battlefield. Granted, if someone get's hit by a 20mm round, he's going to loose some bodyparts, but otherwise you'll just see a small puff. The effects in band of brothers are quite realistic,
Ultimate_dgood but wouldnt it be too easy too win
It does lead to a lot of maneuvering to avoid hot spots. Like I said you'll be a lot less likely to run through a door with blood trails on the stoop.

True I'm not asking for a lake of blood. I'm saying a small spat or two and a body that would fade after a few minutes. What about limbs being blow off by heavy explosives?
