There is a big difference between looking up and popping up like that. Looking up just means keeping an eye on your surroundings, making sure nothing gets on top of you. Also, while yes, your worried about garend thumb, in combat, most people don't....
Interesting opinions. I see your point. In this game the reloading animation is very short, probably a second but not even 2. It causes me to do exactly what you say. I take a glimpse at the gun for the time reloading. I considered this quite nice, because it forces me to contribute attention to the fact that I'm reloading the gun, and as I never held a gun, it would probably draw some attention. But if soldiers are held to be able to mount a gun blindly, they might not have to pay any attention to reloading. I can accept that. Sounds reasonable.
Still, looks awesome.=p
its impossible for anyone of us here to say if they looked at their gun or not, unless any of u have been to a real hardcore war, and most people whit sences know that when i get shot at u, get stressed, when u get stressed, u have to look more carefully at what u are doing, and everything from pitctures, to most movies and so on, shows peps looking at their gun when reloading, but ofc this is something from person to person, but no one can say that those people looked at the enemy when reloading whitout really knowing if they did or not.

Many of us own guns and shoot them regularly. There are also several reenactors here and those who've done military service.
We cannot add depth of field style blur. The blur can only be added two dimensionally, so we can't make the weapon unblurred while reloading.

I think he meant that most of us haven't been in combat and under fire.
