Tanks shouldn’t be able to see infantry half as far as they do in FH1. Remember, tanks in WW2 had very limited vision – Hence the match appreciated benefit of a tank commander riding shotgun atop. Something that could be made good use of in FH2 in both multiplayer and SP… If commanders atop tanks are allowed to use binoculars, that is. It’s frustrating to have a Tank mg fire at me whiles lying flat on the ground with 100% precision at about 500 feet! Let tanks see other tanks further away, before they get to see infantry…This would also mean that, in COOP at least, infantry moving along with tanks would be a must unless you are talking about battles like a day of Zitadelle, where the tank turret would allow it to sweep areas close to it (But even then! They really shouldn’t see infantry that far off without a tank commader)

A tanks vision is rather poor but only to the sides, when you peek through a viewslit you can watch forward and see as far as you normally can but you can't look very far to the left/right/up/down. There is not a lot of info on what the view points will be but it will almost certainly use 1st person views "seen from the tank" only. If this view is from the drivers position, commander or something else we don't know.

The driver can't see much through his viewslit (only forward). If he opens his hatch he has a better view to the left and right but it's still rather poor. The commander can look through his viewslit (360 degrees or less depending on the tank of very small view slits ) or poke his head out for a better view (could get him killed in battle though!).

Looking forward is not the problem. It would be weird if you can only look 400 meters infront of you (the fog of war usually kicks in at 500-900 meters). There should be no view limmit, the fog of war already unrealistically limmits how far a human can look. Humans can easily see further then 1 kilometer (and a lot further then that) . Wether they can see the target easily depends on size/shape/color/...

So no, spotting infantery, tanks etc. infront of you should not be limmited except the fog of war (which still sucks but without fog of war you could see for several kilometeres and your computer wouldn't be able to process all that information). Wether you can hit them depends on wether you have any gunoptics (are they zoomed? unzoomed? no optics but ironsights?), your aiming skills, the weapon accuracy and other various conditions.

So I'm assuming the tank driver will have a hatch he can poke his head through for a better view, depending on the type of tank he's driving.

This is specific to bots though. Cuz in maps like Day of Zitadelle, I can understand why an infantry man wont want to be caught dead in the midst of tank battle, but sometimes, the tanks use their MGs to kill you long before you even see them or hear their engine. And it sucks for gameplay... Bots vision can be limited or extended depending on veihicle used in order to make the well...more human. After all, the MG gunner on top of tanks did have their vision impared slightly to prevent them being the main killer of planes. Couldn't that be done for tank bots too?

Oh yes, it's really bad for the gameplay, because you see nothing and Bot see you if you're in his back !! I hate that ! It's impossible to destroy tank's bot like in Multiplayer !
