Hi all, Devs, fans, Romans, elephants....... I am asking any of you said creatures could tell me if this is possible. When I see a bunch of tanks, fire at one and it bounces off, I think is it possible to hit another tank with the shell that bounced off? I never see a bazooka round bounce off that Panther and go and hit something else, possibly another tank. What I really mean is: can a shell/projectile bounce off a tank and hit something else? As it is the projectile doesn't keep moving, its trajectory "ends" at the tank, even though it supposedly "bounced" off. That suggests the question, Where did the round go? Can anyone tell me if it is possible or likely to be implemented? Thanks. Cheers to and for everyone, from Gemini's wurst nitemare.
I've read in the BF2 manual that tanks shells can bounced off, but i haven't actually seen it in game. And it's most prolly impossible in BF42

I got killed by a ricochet the other day
MyrddraalI got killed by a ricochet the other day
Ricochet? Or splash damage? If a tank shell hits another tank, it explodes, producing splash damage that would hurt whatever can be hurt by that splash in that area.
In a movie i saw a deflection of a hummer(in BF2)
In a movie i saw an arab in a headwrap(in BF2)
Wow. VERY COOL. Thanks Mydraal, was this FH or BF2?
I've seen shells ricochet off tanks in FH42 I'm not sure if they do damage after that though...
Mydraal, that was either splash damage from the spent projectile (it really does not ricochet, it dies on impact) or damage from the effects of debris like the concrete chunks flying out when a building is hit. But...there could be a 'ricochet' round effect...maybe I'm just getting hung up on techicals. In any case, quite a rare event!
On a related note, I know in Africa (and perhaps other theaters), solid AP shot was often skipped across the desert to get into the soft parts of german tanks. I know this is/was possible in the 42 engine.
That's nice, I hope that it will add a touch of realism to FH2 when we get it.
