I don't think I was close enough to have been killed by splash (BF2 has the same "half AP half HE, not good at either" shells. I could be wrong though.

snotvodCan this be done with normal bullets too? Like when an enemy hits the wall right next to you, the bullet ricochets in your direction and might hit you, or even kill you (very unlikely).

Or if you snipe, and hit a hard object the bullet ricochets on your budy next to you (it is possible :))pwned.gif

Grab a PTRD and walk up to a Tiger. Keep firing at the front of it (safest if it is empty) and you will see the shells bouncing off the front. It's a neat effect.

Yeah, but we are not discussing the visual effect of bouncing shells. We are discussing if the shell actually remains a shell (velocity + stoping power) after it hits the target in this game

I've seen it to, firing Panzer II's 20 mm rounds against Sherman and Panzer IV front armour, but haven't experienced on actually damaging anything else, or even esploding anywhere else.

They usually bounce off into the same direction just put something else there and you have your answer.

What do you mean "same direction"? Do you mean if you are firing at a tiger with a Pzr. II, and you are right in front of it, they will bounce back and hit you? Or that shots have real balistics? Please tell me.

All would be cured with HE alt-fire for tanks. Then we could have true almost-no-splash AP, and big-splash HE. You know, just like in RL. (Sorry, I just gotta say it every time I get half a chance.)

I mean if you stand infront of a tiger and fire PTRD shots at it's front then they seem to all bounce off to the upper right. So just put something in it's flight path to find out.
