"The 6in 26cwt howitzer mark I was developed in 1915 it was a rather conservative design with box trail, hydro-pneumatic recoil brake and screw breech. Its performance was average but the soldiers liked it due to the low weight of only 3.6 tons and its sturdiness. 3,600 were manufactured until the end of WWI and due to the lack of a better alternative they remained in service until 1945" Currently the British have nothing but AT guns and this gun was used through nearly the whole war (although after 1942 it was only used in Burma) Caliber: 152 mm L/13.3 Barrel weight: 1295.48 kg Length with the carriage: 2.02 meters Length: 2.22 meters Weight of the projectile: 39.01 kg Production: 3600 Muzzle velocity: 429 meters per second Range: 8,784 meters Very good article about this gun brit_howitzer_red1.jpgbrit_howitzer_red2.jpgbrit_howitzer_red3.jpgbrit_howitzer_red4.jpgbrit_howitzer_red6.jpgbrit_howitzer_red7.jpgbrit_howitzer_red8.jpgbrit_howitzer_red9.jpgbrit_howitzer_red10.jpgbrit_howitzer_red11.jpg

That is all fine and dandy but if FH models Brit Arty they need to do the most common types first. Both IIRC were used through the entire war.

25lbr (87.6mm) artillery IWM_25lbr_front.jpgIWM_25lbr_rear.jpg

And the 5.5"(140mm) field piece. 232086.jpg

Cool, that 25lbr was in Road to Rome, right? Quite a good field gun.

I do love that WW1 piece must of had a hell of a punch.

But Anlushacs right we need to see the 25lbr, as this was the main stay of Brit artillery in WWII, and was both feared by the enemy for its capabilty of continuoes rapid accurate fire and its ability to engage and destroy most tanks when being used over open sights.

It was said that Rommel personaly thought that the Brit artillery was the best in the world, sure i read it somewhere cant remember where? ill look.

However i believe another of Rommels qoutes about the British army was that it was an army of Lions being led by donkeys.

Would also be nice to see the 5.5" piece as static artillery and the 25lbr as a deployable piece with tractor and ammo trailer like in pic below.

Its also confused me why oh FHs map El Alemain theres no artilery, when i believe this battle started with a Brit barrage from over 1000 artilery pieces, am i wrong ?

El Alemain started with the biggest artillery barrage since WWI. I imagine the reason the artillery is not there is because it is not modeled, skinned, or coded.

I know some of the other artillery was more used but it would be fun to be able to open up with some heavy artillery batteries in FH.

I agree Myddraal it would be nice, and my point on the El Alemain comment is that i would of thoght that whne designing a map where artilery played such an important role they would of put it in. Oh well maybe later on eh.
