Not really a serious suggestion just something I found intresting.
In WW2 bicycles were a cheap and light-weight method of giving mobility to infantry. This was particularly true for airborne troops, who were obviously much more limited in the size and number of vehicles that could accompany them. The British airborne forces had a unique bicycle designed to be folded in half and parachuted down.
Parachuting with the airborne bicycle from either Dakota or Stirling Aircraft is simple and requires little equipment. The bicycle is suspended from the parachutist´s body by a quick-release strap when jumping and is always released and lowered to the full extent of a 20 ft suspension line during descent.
Glider troops also carried bicycles into battle, just imagine a horde of paratroopers charging across pegesus bridge on their bicycles.
Like i said, not really a serious suggestion, it would be really difficult to make correct physics for a bike and I would rather see more important weapons and vehicles in FH2. It would be cool to see a whole squad of brits going in to battle peddling their asses off though.
Airborne infantry wasn't the only unit that was useing bikes. MAny british soldiers were landing on Gold, Juno and Sword with bikes. They had to run through water with them and deal through the beaches.
Welbike!
Those motorbikes were great! They fold up and fit inside a drop cannister.
In the invasion of Signapore the Japanese used bikes and this was such an unexpected tatic, that the British kept falling back because the Japs could move a lot more quickly through the jungle.
At the Indianapolis war memorial they have a bike with 2 MGs mounted on it used in WW1, I don't know how you could manage to shoot while riding but whatever.
I remember a story of Japanese soldiers using bikes in Malaysia without the tyres, the sheer amount of japanese soldiers with these bikes led to the belief that the Japanese had tank support due to the grinding the sound of the tyre-less wheels were making :P.
And lets not forget the Dutch, with there Bicycle army :D
Well in the game it wold make no sense because you are limited to a certain area of space. You would be easily mowed down by w/e.
