I purchased a LG CD-RW/DVD combo drive so I could get rid of my 2 other optical drives, but there's one little problem: Windows says it detects new hardware and persistently asks for the driver software! I've never heard of an optcal drive that takes driver software, and it still runs fine without it! Does anyone know where i can download the software, if there is any?? The model is GCC-4520B. I've been up several long nights in a row trying to find the damn software. :cofee:

Shroom, I have never heard of a cd/dvd drive needing drivers or software to function. Why your windows is insisting in driver installation I dont know.

That's exactly my point, and it doesn't need software to run, its just asking for it for no reason...but hey never mind, cuz I just got a new hard drive and reformated, so I think the problem's fixed! it's not asking me for the driver anymore. But anyone who buys that model of an LG optical drive should be aware of that problem. I talked to a friend and he said all the other people that bought that drive have had that problem. The manufacturer is just stupid. :smack:
