The carrier 5 inch anti-aircraft gun needs to be placed back on the U.S. carrier and have the ability to be manned, also the carrier is nothing like a real one. it needs to be covered in 20mm cannons around it.
Agreed, totally. Not only that, but the 5" on the Fletcher should be able to be an AA gun as well.
Are you talking about the turrets on the flight deck? those dont work.
IIRC Enterprise in game has 5" exposed gun mounts along edge of the flight deck. The Essex class had the deck mounted 5" gun turrets.

nobody said its not possible, its just that the carrier guns aren't coded to work right now. Making the 5-inch batteries work on more ships, and giving the appropriete naval cannons both ap and aa shells would be nice, but it would also be a massive amount of work and.. well..coding is hard stuff.
In FH since their is no SDK you have to try something, compile and repack the .RFA files, then load game and try it. And since the game is a bit buggy and on top of that no SDK so you dont know if what you did works fine for what you changed but made something else mess up. A few hours of this and its a headache. Now multiply that times all the vehicles in FH and its can be a nightmare, coders are truely the unsung heroes of FH.
We see the models, skins, and maps and praise them but the coders usually dont hear anything but people like me complaining. It is a testament to Major Hartmann and the other coders that they havent told us to Frell off yet.
Without their effort we would have all these really cool looking vehicles that played like Vanilla BF . :eek:

Couldnt the just do it like the british carrier in rhienburg? where the 4 vickers are? and that carrier has a mass of guns for protection. the essex class had a plent of 20 mils all around it. oh and is my sig to large?
