Hello!

I've been playing FH mod on and off for some months now, and I like a lot of it. However, some things I really dislike, so I thought I'd not it down here.

I love the mod itself. Using weapons that feel more real, crouching and aiming to fire and having bullets that actually seems dangerous. Being able to take out someone with a pistol if you sneak up on them, I'm feeling a lot more like it's war.

So what don't I like? It's extremely simple:

The maps are way to big!

The average map size, combined with the lethal weapons lead to an awful lot of travel time compared to the time I'm actually in combat or planning my next move. Lots and lots of travel time for a 3-second encounter.

On a lot of the maps, there are no bottlenecks. No places where everybody is heading for the fight.

Sad to say, as much as I love your mod, I think a lot of the maps are horribly boring. It has a huge impact on my enjoyment of this mod. My first impression was that this was an amazing mod, and I'd never play normal BF again, and some friends thought the same thing. But after I have played for a while, I am frustrated by looking at the trees pass while I'm trying to get from A to B.

This problem is further increased by the fact that small maps take much shorter time to play than the big maps. I often spend 40 minutes or more on fall weiss, since kills are very slow. While action-packed maps like Zielona Gora often finish in less than 10 minutes when one side capture all the flags in the small area.

I have stopped plaing FH now, since the huge maps are boring, and I can't find servers that only play the smaller ones.

Only the part where I'm fighting the enemy or planning my next move is fun in this game. I really dislike the maps, since I feel I'm wasting a large amount of my free time just to get from A to B. Even thogugh I love the changes, I'm just not having fun!

I really think the general interest for FH could get a huge boost if you added more small maps, updated or moved spawn points, or at least got some good bottlenecks not too far from the spawns. I'd never play normal BF again if I could find a FH server using only tight maps.

For now, I'm returning to ordinary BF in order to actually have fun, no matter how much better I think your mod is. Commuting isn't fun!

Ok, sorry for all the messy posts!

I kept getting a message that my text contained an url, and that I couldn't post urls. I have no idea why, there were no urls in my post. Splitting up my post into several small ones seemed to do the trick, no matter how ugly it was. Then, I figured I might be able to post all the text in a single post if I went back and edited it, and it worked.

If anyone can delete the surplus posts, I would be grateful.

I have never encountered to problem that the maps are too big. Pacific maps are fine to me, only maybe Fall Weiss could be smaller.

I dont think PBMs judgement of FH maps is completely fair on all points. However I do agree on some points. Larg scale Maps like Breakthrough and Provka really do include alot of time traveling form A to B. Some people might find this booring, including me, but it makes you value your life more. Needing a minuit to get back into action will make you stay and hide more often an will result in less suicide Actions. However it is true that these large maps do need bottlenecks or they do tend to get borring quickly. In Breakthrough the fighting is mainly focused on the river crossing which is a good thing. Prokorovka however is really lacking such a bottleneck. People there can drive from HQ to almost every flag spreadout on the map. There is no clear front line. That makes some maps rather tedious because you do spend alot of time driving around virtualy looking for the action. But this applys to a minority of maps in FH Prokorovka and Crete beeing two of them...

The bigger the better. If you want non stop action play UT2004 or something like that. The point of a big map is so you can manuver and attack not just run head on like a noob.
