Before I officially suggest this as an idea, I am curious if this would be possible. The two things that bug me about BF2 are the way vehicals are handled and the lack of the need for a commander.

The thing that bugs me about BF2 is that vehicals in the back are just sitting there and the enemy just has to jump in it and drive off with your tank. Is there a way that you could ask for a vehical from the commander, and he can drop a tank at certain spawn points? (like supplies) This makes the commander more useful and prevents enemies from stealing your tanks at your permaspawn. I think the commander could be more useful if he could do this. (this is just an idea, I have no idea if this can be actually done)

Every point yall have counts as a couple of points each. Each vehical is worth a certain ammount of points. i.e. Tanks=3 APCs=2 Jeeps=1

Bases can be worth different points Main base=3 Stratigic base=2 Small place on the side of the map=1

Different vehicals can be dropped off by commander i.e. Planes can only be dropped at the runway.

This would also prevent that annoying novice from grabbing the Tiger tank and driving it over that obvious mine. Or that person who likes flying his plane into the conning tower of the carrier, when he is trying to take off. -Doron

Welcome to the forums.

Advanced vehicles will be locked to the enemy team in FH2, like they are on some maps in FH1. So you need not worry if i'm correct, and i think i am. :)

Thank you for the kind reception, though I still worry about smacktards sometimes. I play a lot of NS and I like the ability for the commander to give the person who knows what they are doing an upgraded weapon instead of that person who is going to bring the weapon to their death. -Doron

There is no real way to do that, the same way a jerk can get the kingtiger and drive it into a lake, or abandon it in the middle of nowhere, a guy can get into the commander position and drop tanks on buildings, or afk for half an hour. And what would keep commander's from favoring clanmates?

Giving the commander a lot of power like that sounds ripe for someone becoming commander and leaving to eat a burrito, screwing their side, or playing favorites with fellow clam members. Most commanders I've seen so far are more worried about ordering someone to repair "their" artillery than their team's wellfare.

Preventing stealing could be done with locking or having a vending-machine style garage for equipment.

I like this idea, and I also asked myself several times if this possible in bf42 (and now bf2). From the moment bf42 came out I was an engineer. I always liked to defend flags and you would probably find me on a strategic road to ambush tanks and other vehicles. But if I dissable a tank, I get only points for killing the driver. (and if he jumps out before his vehicle explodes , you have a chance to die without earning any points.) Points are not my goal, but if you really stick to one objective (defend a flag, or secure a road) you will probly end up with a bad kill/death ratio. Bf2 makes it even worse. You don't get any points for destroying a tank and if a Teammate drives over your mine, you get nagative points for "team vehicle demage"

So I'm a big supporter of earning points for strategic vehicles, flags.

Is it possible to make it harder/longer to exit a vehicle when the vehicle is damaged It is realistic

I don't like that the commander will choose if you get a tank or not but I like to see that the commander can drop more kinds of crate For example: - medic crate - repairs crate - ammo crate maybe a crate with special wapons like bazookas, mortars or snipers also the british had a crate with a little motorcycle in it

Requesting a motorcylce drop would be pretty sweet. I don't know about tanks though. The germans never perfected the Tiger parachute.

lol...tank parashoot. I could see a whole squad being accidently squished from their commander dropping a crate. I think the commander in Bf2 is USELESS to say the least. I have seen teams do better with out a commander in some cases. The only way to make a commander useful, is if people respect him on the server and listen to him and that will be hard for 90% of the pub players out there. There needs to be more insintentive for players to listen. Also a rankign system would help a lot in this game.

I can understand what yall mean by having some jerk getting into the commander seat, though by having a way to vote them out like NS is essental. By having the commander be able to give out the info he can the better person the tank. Also if a ranking system was established showing how is best with a tank etc that could help out a lot. Before you add all the cool things to a game, you really need to see how the regular joe would play this. And most importantly how to make them have fun. If the game takes to long to learn it would have issues with people with short attenion spans.
