We all know, especially with the news today, that a large part of war is the occupying army having to deal with resistance fighters. FH could make resistance fighters for a 1/2 dozens nation so easily. Here's how...

Create a set of civilian/paramilitary skins consisting of drab colors, vests, jackets, hats whatever comes to mind. In creating it though don't make the skins too specific to any 1 region. WHY? Well consider this, resistance fighters in France could easily look much like those in Poland, Czech, Greece, Russia... paramilitary and civilian clothes look similiar enough to not need 1 set of skins for russians and 1 for here and 1 for there. Say it with me... EASY.

Next, create general weapon kits for these new renegade armies. Again this is easy, it would be a mixture of enemy weapons and those from their native country.

The only hard thing would be creating Molotov cocktails, or would it? How hard is it to make a model of a bottle? That's a pretty simple shape, the grenade throw animation is already in place. So you need the burst* of flaming fuel on impact and the fire* which remains. Well now with the flame throw tanks there is the burst* and the fire* which is left by rockets like the Panzerfaust could be changed to last longer and that could be the fire.

With .66 coming out and the introduction of the French, which I bet they're secretly borrowing from RtR much like the Flettner from SW but shhhh we won't tell, anyway the point is having resistance skins, kits and molotov cocktails could open up a new world of maps. After.66 there could easily be french resistance maps, polish resistance (Warsaw uprising would nice) and countless partisan resistance maps.

Good idea, you could even have female partisans.

did you read it? A civilian with a rifle aimed at a "professional soldier" is as much a threat and combatant as the "professional soldier". In fact I would venture to say a civilian which takes up arms against an enemy should no longer be considered a civilian. I believe Bush's great and barely legal term for it is "enemy combatant".

actually its "citizen soldier"

and its a good idea but very easy to ยงยงยงยง up. you'd have to make sure that the maps were perfect. you couldn't have partisans rolling around in tanks and artillery fighting the germans like a regular army. The fact is that partisans were very helpful with intellegence, hampering enemy movements, etc but were never played a big role in any major battle that could be portrayed with a map.

They should incorporate molotov cocktails somewhere tho, that would kick ass.

Well, women and children did fight in WWII. ;)

A mission could be where the Germans were trying to bring a convoy of trucks to a specific point behind the lines, and only partisans are available to stop them. The Germans could be slightly better armed, but the partisans would have more players. I think it would make an interesting map.

What about the Warsaw uprising? A 63-day battle to liberate World War II Warsaw from Nazi occupation by the Home Army (Armia Krajowa, AK) the Polish resistance group. ;)
