So, we all love Crete in its current state and all, and that's all great. I'm just tossing out an idea to spice things up. First off, we know that the FJ jumped without weapons (except MP40 men, and sidearms), and we know that using any kind of system to simulate that is impractical for FH2. But why not use it in a different concept? Perhaps have a static canister/crate/whatever at each safe LZ on the map that spawns in some of the heavier weapons that the Germans can't drop with. Perhaps a single MG and ATR, with a couple assault MP40s (and why not toss in a sniper somewhere :lookaround:). It can give the team more of an incentive to drop at these LZs instead of trying to drop closer to the flags, and it can get landing troops the firepower they would need in normal ground combat. Plus, once flags are taken, or SLs are spawning their guys in, those guys won't be running all the way out there just to grab a weapon, so it shouldn't screw with the limits on the kits too badly. Also, these can be captured by Brit forces if they ever wanted to run all the way out there (a delay spawn at roundstart for these can allow paratroops the luxory of not being fired at by a mg34 first thing). I know, it's a little out there, but I just want to empty my brain. Anybody like?

This idea was first planned to be involved in Crete actually, but I guess the urge to get the patch out fast made it be one of the things left out. Point being, the map will not have german jumpers without weapons, no no. I bet they still jump with rifles and mp40's, but as you said, the canisters at landing zones that has spawning pickup kits (rifles, mg's, smg's, at-r's) is likely to happen sometime. But I have no idea if it is still being planned by devs as it was during development time of 2.1.

Being extremely careful? You do know you can avoid blowing up S-mines by proning.

Or maybe giving the commander the ability to drop them in the same way as the supplies.

Yeah some like that. I know that S-mines aren't so much a problem, but a battery of Bren camping this crate would be a huge one.

i have a idea for the 16-32 player size,

it need paratroopers, crete whitout them is not fun, and it decrease the feel of the map very strong.

instead of giving on 32- 16 maps germans bases, 2 or 3 spawnpoints in the air whould be nead, just drop them in midair, that players can open the parachute.

Hmm... couldn't the BF2 vehicle drop feature be "misused" for dropping some sort of heavy weaponry container?

Giving the Ju52 the ability to deploy them might be an other option, since there won’t be a German commander most of the time. I’m sure the devs thought of /considered most options …right?
