ah so clicking once or twice on the squad menu = tactics? and caring about teamwork. Thats exactly why i hate squads, because of that assumption. For that reason alone i will never support or use squads. And hate any advantage given to squads. Its a meaningless mechanism to artificially give the impression "hey we're teammates now, see our special colored icons!". Also means i have to listen to people tell me im not a teamplayer because i wont click a button, or spawn on their head.
There's no need to be prejudiced, it's just a step in a good direction. By enlarged, on servers which don't enforce that you join a squad, the people working together and typing things in are in a squad. Not all the time but mostly. It's not that you're suddenly enlightened when you join one so stop your hating of something that's half good and half bad everything has its' ups and downs same with being without a squad. Just by enlarged and if you really want to such a lone ranger, join the squad if you can and commandeer their vehicle for a bit for the good of the team or type in what you want them to do. Squads aren't that bad...just squad-leader spawning/exploiting the system.
but sometimes boarding other's vehicles could change the tide...
such as manning a AFK tanker's MG position and use the MG on it to shoot out enemy infantries
That's a kind of weak argument General Henry, I'm sorry to say:uhm:.
Im not against squads....Im against being penalized (in any way) for not being in one. And thats why i hate squads so, because of servers that kick you for not being in a squad, and weapons you cant get, vehicles you cant use, unless you're in a squad, etc. etc. Im against the prejudice towards non-squad players, thats what im against.
How many people do you think should be in command though? Like you said before you thought that everyone should be one big squad which isn't a bad idea. Surely you must agree that that is better than having no command system, with a competent commander of course. Having some form of command IMO hightens everyone's tactical effectiveness. I think that that should be the least on all server's and joining a squad can be an option for those who want; either for the dedicated voip or the flashy green emblems it gives them on the map, whatever floats people's boats. You don't think that you're better off without a commander for your whole team do you?
I have zero interest in playing a game under someone else's command. Ill never want to play a game like that. So i have to say, no one should be in command. Ill play an RTS if i want to do tactical strategy and command units. BF1/FH1 had good gameplay and was popular and fun. The only thing that wrecked it was smacktards sabotaging games and tking. And a few game mode problems like push mode that breaks, etc. Fixing that is fine, but telling people how to play is another.
