This may sound stupid but i think that taunts from your "invisible" crewman should be able to be heard when driving a tank, in the native language of cause. would be great for atmosphere, at least i think :)
Sounds like a good idea. Maybe add something like RELOAD! after you've fired. I can't think of anything else that could be said though. It shouldn't be too much though, cause that would be annoying.
I would like to hear "rounds complete!". However many never make it to the end of the ammo cycle.
From CoD:
'Agh my legs!' 'You can heil Hitler in hell!'
Translate that into Russian and that'd satisfy me.

:nodding:
or blitzkrieg.
"That bearly scratched the armour" "fetch the paint, we got some work to do" "careful, thats a new paintjob"
Some British phrases:
'Barely touched me, you sod!' 'Keep your eyes open'. 'Mother!' 'Incoming!' 'Keep your heads down' 'That was lucky'.
Rofl! Nice ideas.
Maybe having a virtual commander be able to tell how far off you missed on like an X,Y grid with the tank being the origin. Like, right 2, up 4, or something like that.
