Ok here I go again. Another try. This one is about the submarie in this game. Here are some things I have been thinking of that might improve the submarines. 1. Add place for more players inside the submarine. So they can be inside it when it dive. Space for 3 or 4 player crew? 2. Add an anti air gun on it, a HMG or a flak? 3. make it possibel to stand in the turret, and have a zoom function like the sniper or a binocoulor so you can scout for enemy ships, while moving on the surface. 4. A smal rubber lifeboat if you are forced to abbandon ship 5. Would be cool if there where a Subpen where you could repair and get ammo from too. Where can I get ammo for the smal patrolboats now?

In real life, they had sub tenders, which were usually converted commercial ships or old warships that were given the role of re-supplying submarines while they were away from home base. There weren't a whole lot of them, though. The USS Hunley (not to be confused with the H L Hunley) and her sister ship, the USS Holland, are examples of submarine tenders, although these two were designed specifically for submarine tendeing and were launched after the war.

Yea if you're surfaced. If you aren't...well...the deep blue grave awaits.

Those idea's seem cool, and the Subs have guns, cannons and AA's. I don't think you can put more than 1 person in a sub though. But I like the scouting, pen and rubber lifeboat ideas.

Agreed. Those would really improve subs and sub warfare.

Subs were defenseless against enemy aircraft, even they had some aa gun after black may of 1943(or1942?),and in fh flaks are powerful,if u put flak on subs,u will see guys near enemy airfields manning the aa and shooting aircraft , not sneaking enemy ships trying to sink them.

Germany even developed aa subs, to to speak. Not only had every U-Boot aa guns, but some were even armed with additional aa guns to reinforce submarine aa capabilities. Their job was to appear on the surface once an enemy plane was spotted and attack the plane until either one went down.

Of course, this idea was rather useless and resulted in even greater losses among sub troops than before - it quickly was skipped.

The flaktrap subs worked great til the Brits adapted their tactics to it. They gangraped it with many multiple air and surface units.

It really worked? I can really hardly imagine that, considering just the vulnerability of "normal" surface ships to aircraft in WW2, let alone submarines.

AFAIK, a single ship attacked by a single airplane was just about dead if the plane had at least one bomb. To effectively defend against attacking air planes, several ships were needed, and heavy aa artillery (like the 88) was IIRC not as effective in fending off airborne attackers as a larger number of light aa guns. What was the standard aa gun of german subs - the 88, I think?

But if you say so, I guess you're right since I can't really prove otherwise.
