I think it would be awesome if FH expanded into those "secret" weapons of WWII. Here's a particular weapon that was positively fearsome: http://www.surplusrifle.com/shooting/delisle/index.asp Hope you add it :naughty:
I don't really see that gun in game, being made in large numbers, also what purpose on a big map would it play? also, I read some on that weapon and it looks like it was more of a terrorizing weapon, lol I dunno how people would feel with some spawn camping noob comming up to you while you spawn and sticking lead in your head.
FH is a realism mod. sercret weapons arent realistic, some were tested but most never saw combat. i gues you could have a 1942 map with a german airbase and a few protoype me-262:uhm:
its in the works for british commandos looking for silence http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?t=172973 http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?t=173240
yep, this one is already made. was confirmed some time ago in a previous thread with more or less the same name, only several pages long.
McGibs said he'd do it when a map came along that it would be appropriate for.
The DeLisle fired .45ACP like the Thompson and M1911, but it was a bolt action single shot, designed for short range, I think the max range was something like 50m.
More like 180 metres.
.45ACP from a Thompson loses velocity at 50m. Now let's silence the weapon, which further reduces its velocity (the gasses are trapped and reduced to eliminate the report, which means the round is going to be propelled less quickly). Will that reach 180m? No. No it will not. You might hit something there but the bullet would be no deadlier then a water balloon.
Ohioan .45 APC was accurate up to 120 yards (not up to speed on my meters... but that would probably be atleast 150 meters). Also, that's only as far as it was accurate to, it could probably take out a guy at 200 yards if u were a really good shot or got lucky. One other thing... .45 was extreemly leathal - imagine getting hit by almost half an inch of lead. I've held the .45 APC bullet - you don't think it's a water balloon! jk
